So true, it feels almost like a hollow victory. Still, good shit LJD

I think jd dragged the probe away from the wall with his lings and killed it, or the probe was misplaced (ie. infront of the zealtos and thus making attacking lings out of range of the zealots), leaving the gap.
Whenever Bisu did something a bit weird he lost. He should have just stuck to FE, templar tech.
*wipes tears away from his face*

oh man, the more i look bad on the series the more sad I get that it had such an abrupt end :\

If you watch the unit counting station, you see that bisu's probe count goes from 19 to 18 at the moment when JD breaks through. It wasn't a hold position mistake -- bisu's wall got broken.

Yes, clearly we can assume Bisu knows what is and is not necessary to block that ramp.
So either, you CAN block it with 2 zealots with absolutely perfect positioning, or he had a probe and lost it: So the question does become what happened to the probe?
My assumption, after watching the VOD like 40 times and laughing everytime tasteless yells "ITS CALLED HOLD POSITION BRO!!!"
(BTW - + Show Spoiler +
is that i'm pretty sure JD killed the probe. Its gay because the stupid observer was watching 1 ling chasing around a probe in JD's base - but you can clearly see on the minimap that some zerglings come in BEFORE the main group, that there are dead lings right in front of the zealot (blood splatter left over right where a probe kill could have taken place) when the main lings get there, AND that bisu has a probe travelling already towards the ramp that cleary left BEFORE the lings broke the ramp, assumedly to fill in the spot of the dead probe.
*EDIT*
YES, as the poster above me proved. Jaedong did indeed kill the probe! The Probe count clearly goes from 19 back down to 18, with the scouting probe NOT yet dead
Whoaaa this adds a whole new dimension to it! At least now its not Bisu making a rookie mistake and not knowing the map - but Jaedong actually actively creating holes in his defense

Wow Atrioc, what an indepth post just to say that Jaedong killed the probe. Bravo. You should be a writer.
|
I was about to say the same thing. If JD indeed did kill the probe, which after watching the VOD again it looks like he did, then it was not a hollow victory at all but a well earned one by JD.
Jaedong > Bisu without reservation.

writers have this thing called "Economy of words"

game 5 really didn't live up to my expectations
i wouldn't call it a hollow victory for JD but it's kind of disappointing for fans of competitive SC
we were deprived of epicness
|
I think huge blunders are pretty epic. Seeing one of the the best players make a huge huge huge mistake is fun for me to watch.
|
His only blunder was to not keep his probe in line. Since probes can't hold position.

Yes they can if you group them with other units.

i guess his blunder was not having a second or third probe there in time. it would have been nice if the observer showed it

The correct positiion would have been
--> Up ramp direction -->
...Zealot ...........Probe ...Zealot

sounded like a good series. well of course except game 5, where apparently everyone is disappointed. i will definitely watch the games once they're uploaded.
anyway let's just hope that this is just a preview of the OSL finals! ^^
