BoxeR is just playing his style.

Those interview questions were really lame, as some already noticed. It all reminded me of the video of some collage student getting pulled away by security and tazered when he asked Donald Rumsfeld a different question than he was supposed to.. even though Rumsfeld wanted to answer the question. HE sure wont be able to pull that stuff on a competent player, let alone one of the current top 20. I will just go ahead and direct you to this game: End of discussion.

U have to be a D+ player max to honestly think these games are comparable. End of discussion.

I mean who prefers watching soccer or basketball matches from 50 years ago compared to now? Nowadays strategies and skill difference just evolved to a point where its gotten incredibly hard (if not impossible) to pull all kinds of crazy stuff regularly. Still there is change in gameplay and strategy, only its much more subtle to note than "valks and nukes" or "queens + devourers". Nowadays the map plays a huge factor in bringing out interesting strategies, remember when Flash killed shit in tvz on katrina with mech and fast +1? It sure doesnt look as genius as the crazy stuff people could pull in the old days, but that doesnt mean it just isn't. In fact, coming up with something new that works on the current level of skill SC has evolved to is far more impressive imho. and before i get flamed: i started playing sc competitevely before TL ever existed and watched these "old times" first hand and sure, finals like Grrr vs TheBoy made me jizz my pants back then. When I go watch them now I can't look past their (relatively) abysmal control and multitasking. Now I jizz my pants when I see the perfect macro/micro/multitasking of players like Jaedong or Flash.

care to elaborate? cus you know, if u pull 9 drones and lose 6 of them in the first 3 minutes of the game as a Z it is already GG. Im pretty sure every C Level T would have won from there on (if they wouldnt know its jaedong and get nervous like shit cus they have a huge chance to win vs jaedong).

I mean who prefers watching soccer or basketball matches from 50 years ago compared to now? Many people do. The pace in football(soccer for US and Australians) was much slower. You had all the time in the world compared to now to do some 'brilliant things'. And I hear tons of people complain that football nowadays is boring. It's too tactica, it's too much about power play, the stakes are too high to take any risk, etc. Obviously, you aren't the only one. I think it's kind of silly to claim that low level play is better than high level play. If the game gets too boring you need to change the rules. And in the case of football, it really has major major rules problems anyway. And it's like Daniel Lee says, most people don't get to appriciate the high level of play since they are unaware like it. It's not that Starcraft has the same crisis chess has. It's more limited than chess, for sure. But it doesn't have the problem that high level play removes creativity and turns everything into preprogrammed robot play.

Yeah I couldn't agree more with this. Maybe its just that I didnt realize how many of those people post on TL.net nowadays cus back then when it started the vast majority of posters had a relatively good understanding of the game and were able to appreciate most of the nuances of pro level play.
