Also Midas made Valkyries work much better and against decent players atleast (Albeit on a mech favored map) EDIT: BTW that zerg player Boxer faced was downright Noob and i would expect basically ANYONE to beat him.

Quit SC, quit following progaming. In fact just go hang yourself.

What was it exactly the difference? Probably something like "GG, I've wasted your time by pretending to be a good player, I never deserved to play against you and I will kill myself as soon as I get off the stage, by killing myself I'm hoping that you will forgive me."

You had all the time in the world compared to now to do some 'brilliant things'. And I hear tons of people complain that football nowadays is boring. It's too tactica, it's too much about power play, the stakes are too high to take any risk, etc. Obviously, you aren't the only one. I think it's kind of silly to claim that low level play is better than high level play. If the game gets too boring you need to change the rules. And in the case of football, it really has major major rules problems anyway. And it's like Daniel Lee says, most people don't get to appriciate the high level of play since they are unaware like it. It's not that Starcraft has the same crisis chess has. It's more limited than chess, for sure. But it doesn't have the problem that high level play removes creativity and turns everything into preprogrammed robot play. Oh boy, the chess part is such a bullshit I can't even believe it. Chess? Robot play? Non creative? Seriously, how ignorant you have to be to talk such rubbish?.. Thats the typical view of nooby player whom has just learnt the moves and thinks the whole games is "who blunders first". Same as thinking SC is all about "whom is the fastest". Please shut up if you haven't got a slightest idea what you're talking about. --------------------------- I enjoyed the games. I was like WTF boxer is doing, he's going to lose BAAADLY in the first game, when mutalisks killed like 15 SCVS. He won, somehow. I'll just blame baxter, must have been really nervous ![]()

Pimpest Play is a good way to back this up, the quality of the pimpest play has decreased as StarCraft was all about execution of moves while adapting to the build of your opponent. I've also played Chess and I feel the same, I remember my Seniors during high school in Chess varsity, they play standard openings, like there are pre-made moves to be done. Chess has been explored already and it just boils down to who made the better opening and who has the better midgame.

![]() Again, this is typical comment from someone who has just barely touched the basics of chess. And thats quite sad too, because to appreciate the beauty and complexity of chess you must be very, very good. Thats why chess isn't and never was a good spectator sport, which is a damn shame ![]() Sorry for hijacking this thread, im not going to post any more chess-y comments here. If you want to discuss about chess PM me or hit me up on MSN (lemon@freemail.lt)

You dont get it. We arent all excited becasue Boxer played the best game of his life, or that he had incredible unit control, or took down a really good progamer or anything like that. What was exciting about those games was the creative strategy that he used. I dont know how you can be a fan of progaming and not have found those two games to be the most exciting gmaes of the year.

Thats why chess isn't and never was a good spectator sport, which is a damn shame ![]() This is so true, I remember my friend commenting once "why did you do that move?" and see the results a few moves later. Anyway, its a lot same with StarCraft, I remember watching a game once and my friend said "Oh my God! They got tanks already! If I was there I could have just been massing infantry." Those comments are forgivable since they don't know StarCraft as much as most of us would do. This conversation about beauty of StarCraft and other stuff can be way long, but I think we would all agree that one will understand StarCraft when that person knows a lot about that sport. Oh damn, I lost faith in Mummyung, cuz his last match was against rA and he got killed bad, and I think rA used to teach Violet or some other Protoss in KTF so I thought that person would have picked up stuff before rA became a commentator....oh well.

HE sure wont be able to pull that stuff on a competent player, let alone one of the current top 20. Maybe, but it was brilliant stratgy nevertheless. It's only the Ro128, so since he can get away with random crazy builds it makes sense that he should. It achieves two things - first, it confuses the hell out of anyone who has to play him in future rounds and, second, it allows him to not give away any other strategies he may be working on. The next matchup will be chaos - who would know what to expect after that? Mind games...
