I wouldn't say PvT is my weakest anymore. I honestly believe my matchups are all pretty much equal right now. If anything, my PvZ is slightly my best and my PvP is slightly my worst. I've been working on my PvT a lot. | ||

Moreover I think that you need a lot of time to level up once you go to korea, because probably you have to change your whole approach, also playing for so much time every day could very well result in you not focusing on your games at first, and so training becomes ineffective. I remember that also PJ didn't qualify for WCG china after joining SKT1, while he probably would have qualified if he didn't move from china, since he was the most dominant player at that time. I'm just trying to find examples or making hypotesis... anyway the skill of the opponents is by itself a good reason | ||

There is one reason IdrA is still in Korea. Marketing. Lets face it. Just like a woman in a male dominated sport, a white guy in a Korean dominated sport sells. IdrA did win his tournament fair and square, whether you like the guy or not, so he did earn his way over there. But beyond that, it's been a massive flop. Whether it's too hard to adjust or not, he hasn't succeeded. I don't ever recall hearing him win a Courage tournament, and as far as I know, if you don't win that, the only other way to get a license is for someone to work the paperwork for you to get one. I could be completely wrong here, but that's everything I've seen. And I am led to believe that you need a Progamer License to play in the TG-Sambo GOMTV league. Now lets do the math from that. No courage win, in GOMTV league. Someone handed him the Pro-Gamer License. However he has failed to impress many so far. Whether you think they are "no-name noobs" or not, they still are a viewer of the games. They probably go and watch pro games on a regular basis. I'm willing to bet the only reason many of you support him is because he's a foreignor in Korea, and deep down you know it's not going to be as successful as everyone hopes. There are some who cheer because they like him, and they truly believe he will succeed. I compare these people to Kansas City Royals fans. But that doesn't matter. The truth is, being different sells. Just a side note, the tournament SCForAll hosted which he won: Open to US and Canadian residents only. If it hadn't been, we'd be seeing someone else over there right now. However he is, and that's where it stands. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WCG Thoughts: Not surprised with Group A. After everything was said about G5's playing style, I figured he'd throw everyone for a loop. NonY is no surprise. I'm happy for G5, from what everyone says, he's a radically different player, and I like seeing someone who isn't a "cookie-cutter" player. NonY is showing why he's the top guy not in the GMT+9 time zone, and dominating left and right. Good luck to both of them. As for Group B, with Yosh not showing, this makes everything seem a ton more interesting. I figured Yosh and Artosis to advance, but with him gone, it opens a lot up. I'm really impressed with Louder, tbh, who took down Artosis 2-0. I haven't seen the VODs yet, but it either takes balls-of-steel cheesing or good straight up play to accomplish that. Dino opened 2-0, but we'll see how much farther he gets. I'm not going to take sides and root for or against him, but we'll see some solid players advance from Group B. Overall, it doesn't matter much, as NonY looks poised to take down anyone in his way, but I think he and G5 will meet again in the finals for another set. | ||

The reason why people on this forum keep saying "Your opinion doesn't count" is because it doesn't. Neither does mine, for a reason. The coaches in korea know what they are doing and why they have faith in IdrA, his results in this wcg tournament won't matter as long as he's performing well in Korea. | ||

People talking bout his Korean time of adaptation bla bla is crap. When Elky got to Korea he was already starleague material, and got 3rd of one. To a lesser extent, you guys might not know, but Smuft when he got to korea, first thing he done was ranking 3rd of gamei offline tournament ( more or less ancestor of courage) then killing the last King of Kings champion on OGN (he 2-1 Grrrr... there who was still running in starleagues etc. Before semi final vs kingdom) then humilated Yellow on OGN as well in 8 mins, PVZ on Lost temple. Yellow was in his fucking prime, KTF team didn't even exist back then. Anyway, you can all bitch as much as you want claming players at that time didn't know how to play and that now its all different; Doesnt change anything to the equation saying it's better to send winning material right away rather than "oh im going to korea to learn sc" material. | ||

So i guess that means you basicially agree with me that top foreigners = b team koreans (skillwise) Now we just have to convince the korean coaches and we can have many foreign progamers because with training I thing foreigners can improve more easily than koreans because foreigners just need to learn the mechanics which is not that hard with 12 hours training every day, but they have something many b team koreans dont have that good and which is harder to learn: Creativity, greater amount of strategys (not just the standard) | ||

I really, really want to see a replay of NonY vs. G5, especially the last game (I think it was the last one; it was on Blue Storm). I was watching from behind G5, and saw him rally a massive goon+zeal+reaver force outside his base; NonY attacked with a huge army of goons and zeals; G5 was able to defend, but a minute later NonY would attack again with a gigantic army. This happened about three times, before NonY finally pushed his way into G5's main. All of us standing there watching couldn't believe how NonY had the macro to make these units. I thought G5 should have gg'ed earlier in that game, after his main got wiped out, but it's not my call. Anyways, thanks again to diggity, Peanut, Psy, and the kid with the 'stache whose handle I forget; and best of luck to G5 in the finals. Nony won 2-1 in the finals, but if he were to lose that match, then he would have player G5 again, as he was the winner in the winner's bracket, but G5 was the winner in the loser's bracket (essentially double elimination). I might be mistaken, though (this is my understanding of this messy bracket). | ||
