Damn I was hoping Mini would out choke Sharp... Sharp was playing well in the first game and then Mini just cranked it up. This side of the bracket's Ro4 will be more interesting at least. Maybe we get a return of the Legend of the Fall?

Pretty sick match
Wouldn't have been unhappy with either outcome. Sharp would've deserved a win, but so does Mini. Plus it's good to have a protoss advance.
If you want to do the right thing, 80% of your job is done if you don't do the wrong thing.

That was a nice series, delighted to see Mini looking to be on form, in the group stage he looked lucky enough to get out. Great to see one of each race so far in the Ro4 too.

That screenshot makes me curious how that would look like in 1.16.1 (original) graphics. The probe looks really chunky in comparison to the zealot. The new graphics may make the reach look even more exaggerated than it is.

What was the glitch in game3? Looks like Mini's AI lost control for 2 minutes... Then it switched to the normal game when 2 reavers appeared. Can someone explain it?

Live game obsing can break like a replay ever since remastered I believe. ASL noticed it quick enough to switch observer stream, so it didn't really matter for the live broadcast.

That seems related to how a sunken can have insane range. Switch target during animation to achieve higher range.

Edit: Marine had exactly 8 health left, unfortunately the replay doesn't show the bunker health before and after the last attack when the rine died, but psi-blades do 2x8 dmg. I'm pretty sure the first 8 dmg went on the bunker. I've read on TL before that you can split the dmg of zealot if you switch targets at the right moment, because it consists of 2 attacks. Useful when fighting zerglings (or marines for the same reason) with 0/0/0 zealots for example.

True, but the being attacked thing is a prerequisite in this excessive range occuring. I just dug through the YT comments and most upvoted comments are saying the same things there. The window in which this can occur seems very small. Cannon attack and sunken attack are both long animation, so that's likely why it can be easily manually manipulated.

Check this clip of 3 goons shooting back a tank at excessive range during being hit animation:


To not go too far off-topic with this: the screenshot redknights posted of Mini vs Sharp Game 2 is during the second part of the zealot's attack animation and it's zoomed in for extra dramatic effect. It's not a case of excessive range.
