The remaining funds from Matcherino are still being used to fund future events and we currently have ~$500 in the pot. Next event will be Minor Proleague this Friday at 5pm PST on JY's channel, then a special NaS vs. NAKR clan war event on Sunday at 5:30pm PST. Tune in! | ||

There is a reason this is super successful content on a daily basis on Afreeca. I really enjoyed it, the banter is amazing and its a ton of fun to listen to. First time in ages I actually went back and watched a twitch vod to catch what I missed live! A bit of a shame the Major PL only happens every other week given that this happens daily on Afreeca. I think a patreon is a solid idea to provide some funding, but why not do what Koreans do and use balloons (or in this case bits) raised by each individuals twitch stream and redistribute those to the winning team? Granted this would mainly take money from Artosis and give it to other foreigners, but any incentive that pays people to practice BW outside of a korea is a good one in my book. Would be daft to see EU Proleage as well or maybe have one including all foreigners once a month or smth. | ||

One difference that makes the fundraising difficult is most of the NA folks don't actually stream, whereas the Korean streamers all have their own audiences and fan bases, so they can crowdsource the funds by asking and begging and such. Gypsy is probably the only real streamer who streams consistently, and maybe me, but I'm pretty on-and-off. As you said, we're grateful Artosis is already providing the platform and advertising for funding / Patreon, but we don't want the funding to conflict from his regular revenue as well. Proleagues vs. other continents is something I've been thinking about and would add as a stretch goal for our Patreon. I'd love to coordinate with EU or SA folks to make it happen every now and then, although it's really, really hard to get time-zones to match up for it to be frequent enough. Further, these formats have to be played live whereas previous continent battles that ZZZero hosted could be pre-played and rep-casted. | ||

Ye I suppose it would just end up being a redistribution of part of artosis' twitch income '^_^ I didn't realize so few people streamed. It might be worth having everyone at least stream during the PL games, I always enjoy having multiple povs open during KRPL. Timezones are a major headache idd, would certainly be hard to get ~8-12 people from EU/NA together on a weekly basis. I think a bi-monthly event is worthwhile for sure though. Typically though we would want newer folks to start off in K-League (same thing, just lower tier) before moving up to Proleague.
