In the underground of the North American ladder everybody who's anybody knows who is who. The top dogs of the scene are constantly rubbing shoulders, and although everyone's polite you never truly know who might be teaming up to take you down.
With a player pool that's simultaneously close knit and cutthroat, Rogues Gallery is pleased to announce Turf Wars, a North American all-star team league. Four NA bosses will hand pick their teams and lead them as captains in a high stakes winner-take-all event. Tune in to the tournament to find out who's all talk and who runs the table.

It was a list put together by the admins with the top faces and then a crew to get the racial balance roughly even and some 2v2 players in there, from the people I had contact info for. It's by no means an extensive list past the very top but I think we have a good crew and I hope the event will be fun to play and watch In future we will have events with open qualifiers and I hope anyone who is wishing they were on this roster will participate!

This isn't a very satisfying answer. It doesn't really leave any room except to get in with the cool kids. There wasn't some kind of criteria like needing to reach a certain rank, or achieving some kind of tournament experience. I don't have any issue with the players on the list and have enjoyed playing with quite a bit of them but at the same time I question where some of them have been in recent days and what kind of work they have been putting in.

What the hell is this. Why are you guys immediately jumping down Telecom's throat when he had asked a question then asked to donate to the event. I expected a much more reserved attitude out of you crossy. I looked up to you and this is how you want to represent yourself. In a way I am actually glad I didn't receive any consideration for this event if this is what we have to represent NA. I also don't fully understand the BM Telecom received in this thread. If his only crime for being in this community is the stigma of BM and defending himself when he is attacked what does that really mean for you guys? How long does the notoriety last when all I've seen is a guy just playing this game. I would stake my entire reputation that if Telecom were to play in this event and was asked not to say anything and just play he would get through it and receive all the hate without a single incident. You guys are only looking at the past reputation instead of how he has grown.

I mean, the NA scene in a nutshell has always been mostly a lot of inflated, shit talking egos who perform subpar on international level. With a few exceptions, who did well, but also didn't shit talk everyone.

No matter what qualification system there is people that "should" be in the tournament are going to be excluded. This is really just a couple people trying their hand at organizing a large tour for the first time and it's not going to be perfect.

I'm not really sure what to tell you. This event was invite only, intended to help us get Rogues Gallery off of the ground. It's very difficult to drop a new event on the scene with no notoriety and no starting prize pool and then expect people to go through the trouble of playing an open qualifier. We DID have a process going through and choosing the players as I mentioned before (If you're looking for a vague MMR level it was approximately reaching 2k last ladder season) but as I also stated this is an invite only event. This means that it is not the perfect display of the top 24 players in North America - but it is still a sample of a certain skill requirement to be competitive and a means for us to provide content for the scene and increase our overall production value and reliability.
I'm sorry that there are people who feel they would have liked to play that weren't chosen - as I mentioned before I am hoping that we will have enough traction to run open qualifiers for events in the future. Invite only events are of course biased by nature, as someone who hasn't been involved in the scene very long there were limited people that I had contact information for and was aware of their level. If anyone has a specific problem outside of the fact that we are running an invite only event, please feel free to message me on discord and I can do my best to address your concerns

Where in this thread was there any mention of telecom talking badly about your parents? Where in your recent games are you receiving this information, or in what discord are you 2 both in? Why would you ask who he is, if you're ok talking down to him? Are you so threatened by telecom's call out that actually does have proof you need to be so butthurt?
