Rules:
Rules
- ICCUP Competitive Rules apply: http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft/Competitive_Rules
- All games must be played on 1.20 (Remastered), on US-West. You must be in channel HaveAtYou at all times between games. Default Turn Rate of 8, unless both players agree to a higher level.
- Map pool: Fighting Spirit 1.3, Outsider 2.2, Camelot 1.6, Crossing Field 1.0, Neo Jade 2.1. Download the map pool here.
- Smash.gg must be used (Instructions below)
- 1st Round DQ is after 20 minutes, subsequent rounds are after 15 minutes.
- Every round will be Bo3, Finals Bo5. Double Elimination (Losers Bracket is Bo1)
- Experiment: We will be casting these games LIVE as such if an admin flags your series to be cast YOU MUST LET SCHAMTOO INTO THE GAME
Step by step:
- Smash.gg
- Sign into your account.
- Go to the tournament's bracket page. Find your name/match and click on the box of you & opponent.
- Check-In to your match. Your opponent and you will go back and forth between banning maps, and picking a map, then your race, then it will suggest a lobby name for you to use.
- After your match, click on the box, record results, confirm. Proceed to do the same for Map 2,3 etc.
- In StarCraft
- Join US-West
- Go to channel HaveAtYou
- Find your oppponent, or use the lobby suggested by Smash.gg
- Play match.
- End of match SEND YOUR REPLAY to SCHAMTOO@GMAIL.COM
- Go back to Smash.gg (Step 1.4 above)
Notes:
- No I'm not changing from Smash.gg
- The BNet server (USWest) doesn't matter once you're in game. (If you can prove otherwise, let me know).
- Your replays in 1.20 on Windows save to your "My Documents" -> "StarCraft" -> "Maps" -> "AutoSave"
- TT1 is noob.

Double Elim - Best of 3's for all of Winners, Best of 1's for all of Losers.

Sorry, what does this mean: Bo1 W, Bo1L, Bo3 Semi's. I know what Double elim means.

Meaning, Best of 1 for Winners and Losers until Semi-Finals where we go to Bo3

FYI previous HAY format with double elimination = 7 hours long event
it should be max 4 hours imo

to decrease the time the best option is to make winner bracket bo1 till quarters, and bo1 losers all the way

Super excited to tune in and maybe play if I don't forget.
Also stoked about the casters. Sayle/Qikz/Schamtoo are super good casters and it is actually neat to see how much Qikz/Schamtoo has improved over the course of 2017. We are in the golden age of BW casters boyz.

Hi everyone, quick update:
Going to run single-elim Bo3 this weekend. I would love to run Bo1 in Winners & Losers until quarters but the overhead for my admins would be insane given how DQ's work on Smash gg.
Bo3W Bo1L is just too long. I'd like to attract more people who don't have to put aside 7 hours to play.
Hope this doesn't make anyone quit, I will be looking for more ways to make this tournament better!

Also, I'm looking to introduce a rule that all people can stream at your own risk up until the semi-finals.

last match watched was Bonyth vs eOnzErG and you said eOnzErG won the tournament.. but in the bracket, it says that eOn lost to Ty2 in the lower bracket to go up against trutacz in the loser quarter finals..
am I missing something?

Quick post mortem on Have At You 11:
I fucked up, I'm sorry. This was not a good tournament.
1. Players disagreed with Turn Rates - I thought this was clear in the rules, but i need to make this more apparent. TR8 is the tournament default unless you and your opponent agree to play TR12. If one doesn't, the match must be played in TR8. This is an international tournament, TR12 is very hard on weak connections.
2. Prizepool wasn't updated to Single Elimination. As a result, 3rd/4th match wasn't played out because... it's single elim and that match is silly, and 3rd/4th was cut in half to be 12.5% and 12.5% which benefits and hurts, but only by a few dollars. Still, not good. Messing with people's money is never a good thing.
3. Bo5 in Finals was not at all well communicated. I got confused and flustered and apparently players thought Smash.GG wouldn't be able to handle a Bo5, when it was ready to. As a result I made a snap decision for players to just pick the last two maps with no bans, or it got communicated as such. TBH I was so exhausted I forget what exactly transpired. As a result, Bonyth had to play on Neo Jade, a map not wanted to be played on, twice. Kinda not good.
Anyways, I messed up a lot of stuff this weekend. Had a lot of downtime in the middle of the cast and both production, casting, and tournament quality all paid for it.
Sorry folks, I'll try better next time.
To fix the issues:
1. Giving my admin a heads up that DQ'ing players who cause issues should be quicker. I'm not trying to ban anyone, but this tournament was held up >1 hour because of this issues.
2. I'll remember to update prizepool next time.
3. Communication for each type of Round, Pool, etc will be communicated specifically in the head post, even if it's used or not.

It's because you care of Have at You as much as you do, people respect you and your tournament for that. You're doing great.

For now, Have at You is on hiatus. I've been having increasing problems trying to get this tournament into my vision as well as finding time to expand and make it better.
However, many tournaments have spawned up around the same time for it, which is mostly what this tournament was supposed to do, bridge the gap until people made their own tournaments.
I'm going to try focusing on casting more in the next few months.
