Ah okay. I mostly play on ShieldBattery, so I haven't had the chance to really check out 1.18 myself firsthand. Sounds pretty bad though. Hopefully it gets fixed quickly.

Yes. There's the little thing on the left that gives supply/mineral/gas/apm which is part of the 1.18 obs hud apparently. You can also see the player's screen location on the minimap. I guess they wanted these matches to be on 1.18 so they rushed it out unfinished.

i thought effort said that there are some issues with muta micro And also showing players screen squares on minimap is kind of confusing o_O

I'm not sure about muta micro. When I played the PTR it was impossible to micro mutas because of the server lag. I assume it might be slightly better on actual LAN. If muta micro is even a little bit off though, it'll mess up your volleys. And yea the player screen squares is really more distracting than helpful.
although watching Hero's mutas right now he doesn't seem to be missing many volleys. Maybe it is better on LAN.

this game perfectly shows how free is actually good at pvz. But there is a lot of uncertainty in his game play. Hopefully it will go away
