Gas intensive and TvP is already heavily gas intensive, especially when carriers are into the picture and you need to spend rounds on gas units (Goliaths) rather than vultures which you usually dump minerals into. Ghosts could definitely be viable if you can go upto 4-5 gas though then it's just a matter of people being too locked into the regular respone (just mass goliath).

It's really expensive, Ghosts have a habit of dying in mine explosions, you basically get exactly one shot because if the Ghosts move up to cast Lockdown and the Carriers are microed back they all just die, even if you manage the perfect Lockdown clone you still have to beat the ground army with enough time left to actually kill all the Carriers, etc.

My explanation for this game is that someone told Light "just pretend you're playing TvT" to help him feel less nervous and he took it too literally

Was Light playing poorly in the last game? Should he had been more aggressive in mid-game? He had the economic lead.

I think outsider is a map where ghosts could be a good idea. They have to try something, 'cause look at this game. What could Light have done with his goliaths?

dunno guys,i think ghost lategame is not well explored,i see Scan lategame he is holding arbiters with Ghost,sure it is not easy and u need some high lvl mechanics.imagine lockdown atleast 5 6 carriers,u dont need that many goliaths to fight and u can give priority to ground army.

You just can't let Protoss sit on 5+ bases on Outsider and expect to win lategame. Light was doing well up until he killed 12, but then he just kind of sat there with his army and didn't do anything besides the abortive attempt to kill 9, which he didn't follow up. I think if he pushes 9 and then inner 12 properly the game looks totally different.

e: Also the attempt to cliff the nat at like 17 minutes was just inexplicable.

You guys are forgetting how the game got there. Light went for starport which messes up all his potential early timings, got shutdown in all attempts except for the 12 snipe, then kept making dropships, which is a big gas investment for someone that is on 2 gas, tried to kill the 9 but didn't target fire the nexus (tanks were shooting the assimilator). By that point Jaehoon had a critical mass, sniped 3 cc + the natural gas in 30 seconds and, on a map that favors air play so much I can't imagine what Light could've done from there
