btw im just a zerg biased in this situation, obviously the game didnt go in zergs favour, but then somehow movies decided to donate zealot after zealot that put him in a tricky situation for the sole reason that soulkey made a very early 4 base and delaying muta or hydra tech.and then from that step everything, absolute everything was going pretty much to soulkeys favour.but thinking about it im unhappy the way soulkey decided to continue the game in lategame stage, 4 5 extra hatcheries in the fourth ? so play mass lings, seriously ? i know he won dewalt this way but common.but it doesnt change the fact that movie didnt even took the time to micro and kill the sunkens it was a literally 1a 2a 3a move and it worked.xDDD

Let's hope JD advances ^^

Going back and rewatching that last game more carefully, I don't think Soulkey was ever in the lead. 8 minutes in Movie goes for a late +1 zealot/archon attack on the natural. Usually if you build 3 sunkens at the second and third bases and take no drone losses, you come out about even. Soulkey builds 5 sunkens at the natural, yet his simcity doesn't stop a zealot runby so he has to sacrifice 6 drones as well. He has 4 sunkens at his third, but again his simcity doesn't stop the runby so he loses another few drones trying to block, and some zealots still get through so he has to pull workers from his fourth.
Soulkey also gets very late gas for some reason. 11 and a half minutes in, his third and fourth have no extractors, you can also see that his natural has only a single drone on gas (1:57:23 on the eng Youtube VOD). So he ends up playing sunken D at his third, sunkens can tank damage well but he has almost no hydras/lurkers behind them doing damage.

his spire timing was off, he was way behind from the beginning.

After seeing that massive static defense line I`d just did what p`s usually doing in pvt 2 base. Recall. :D You already have ht`s, mix it up with some halus for a safe arbiter incursion, and there you go. Terror had really put up a fight against Flash (at some points I thought Terror might win, but hey you have to use your defilers more than one time :p) that was a good game.

Damn. Soulkey too. My two favorite players out and no zergs. ;(
Hopefully JD can get it done

As much as I wanted SK to win, given he is my favorite player of all time, I felt much of that loss was on him. He got himself in a position where those two reavers were absurdly devastating, especially combined with archons in a tight spot. SK was either played silly for spam a-moving pure ling into that splash ball of movie, or made some mistake earlier if he was forced to play mass ling for w/e reason.

Even though all the drones died at one shouldn't he at least have had enough to make more than 5 mutas? I dunno... I think he didn't even have an extractor in his lower right base IIRC, for some reason. So that plus a lot of dead drones, plus needlessly throwing away a lot of high-gas scourge and mutas. Still can't figure out why his scourge just 'froze' like deer in headlights in front of that corsair group. it's a normal thing with scourge. They fly to the target, stop, then accelerate again to suicide into them, it happens a lot of times against units that aren't moving. If you watch closely, you will notice that the zergs oftentimes try to flank the early corsair(s) for the reason of scourge being a bit funny. It's also the reason why a corsair can fly all the way from the zerg base to his natural/main to be protected by cannons, despite the scourge being slightly faster than corsairs. The scourge will simply not just always immediately suicide into them when they catch up but instead do this stopping and whatnot
I know, but it seemed like an unusually long 'stop' in this case.

Well, first of all lol at 2 zergs trying to 3 hatch lurker against Flash. Guess they were counting on valkonic. Movie vs Soulkey was really exciting. When first watching it i was thinking "ok Movie is so dead" so i had to rewatch to get a grasp of how that happened. My opinion about how the game went: 1. 1gate vs 12 hatch with 3rd at another nat. Movie makes only one zealot before stargate (definitely uncommon) while Soulkey hasn't scouted and makes extra lings to handle the additional zealots. This also means star vs spire timing is good for movie, props to movie for all of this but he only gets 2 overlords while his dt gets denied, so only slight advantage if any so far. 2. First attack at natural seems kinda suicidal, but he gets tons of lords and some drones without losing too much. Followup at 3rd does some damage too but losing a lot of units means really delayed third for movie, who also loses his sairs, 3.I think this is the most important moment in the game: had soulkey realised how little anti air movie has, he would have made mutas, kill templars and win with muta-hydra. Instead, the mutas try to deny the 3rd unsuccesfully, then fly into main/nat doing no damage, Meanwhile, yes Movie is behind economically but he has a clear plan to finish the game which kinda works. After all this, i think the game was quite close even after the nat kill and usually cracklings from 5+hatches finish off a weakened Protoss army, but this is when P is goon heavy. Really interesting and exciting overall and always nice to watch the CJ reaver heavy style, gg

Lots of people weren't happy with the earlier games, but we thought they were fun to watch
flash vs terror - meh movie vs soulkey - this is our first time watching a hydra bust on benzene so it was neat to watch the high ground used that way flash vs soulkey - there's no way you can't say the deciding 30 seconds of the game didn't have you on the edge of your seat terror vs movie - meh soulkey vs movie - very exciting game
maybe it's the difference between watching vods vs having to watch commercials, but we thought the games were very good overall

I heavily disagree on flash vs soulkey. I knew the game was over as soon as Flash attacked the nat and soulkey decided to counterattack.
Soulkey vs movie was kinda meh for me, the first one more than the second one. Both kind of sloppy from both sides, the second one was more solid by movie.

When Movie failed to pull probes against the Hydras in his first game I thought "has the PvZ specialist lost it?"
The second Movie vs Soulkey game eased my fears. He knows this matchup. Reavers, Storm, Storm, Storm, Archons. Too powerful.
No Zergs allowed in Ro16.
Only 2 Protoss (Much, Anytime) in Ro24, 1 (Much) in Round of 16: http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft/2006_Shinhan_Bank_OSL_Season_3
In JangBi's first OSL championship he was one of only 2 Protoss in Ro16 (along with Stork). So it's possible: http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft/2011_Jin_Air_OSL
History of BW is the dearth of Protoss. I personally like the 6-5-5 split for a Ro16, but it almost never ever happened. Last was: http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft/Korean_Air_Starleague_Season_2
This was actually the most perfectly split racial tournament ever because the Ro8 and Ro4 were also perfectly even, and the Ro36 (+4 seeds into next round) was just barely short of perfect (14-14-12, close enough). Also had 3 TBLS in the Ro4!

So fucking happy to see Flash playing BW again and full audience.

I really wanted Soulkey to win so we could see more ZvT and ZvP in the round of 16. Gotta believe in JD and by.hero now to add more flavor next rounds.
