I would imagine the point is that if you're A rank you're going to be invited to those other tournaments. Less than that and obviously that's not going to happen, but the thing is tournaments like these give people who aren't the pro level the chance to play in more tournaments. Yes, there's no money involved and yes, it's probably not fair because you're excluding players for the sake of doing it, but it gives the players involved atleast somewhat of a chance to get quite far in the tournament.

If you had the foreign pro level players in it, everyone'd be knocked out except them by the Ro8/4 and if it's only a small tournament it means people who don't get to play in as many tournaments, get even less of a chance to experience the setting which invalidates the whole point. Now I realise this is coming from someone who's still only max rank D+, but I think with enough practice I could even beat C/C+ players since my mechanics are not terrible I still stand somewhat of a chance If I play well. B, not as much but still a slim chance, but if it was a foreign pro level player I'd stand no chance. I'd still enjoy the experience but some people'd see it somewhat pointless.

To compare it to sports of some kind, do people complain when proffesional american handeggers can't play in the same leagues as the college players? What we need is just more tournaments with varying skill levels so more and more people can join in and play with a wide variety of players.
