I agree with flyingjelly in that what we're aiming for in the map pool is a variety of maps, not maps that are rather similar to each other. Therefore, either Fighting Spirit goes or Toad Stone goes. However, with that, there's a conflict in that I want to try and implement at least one BWMN map but people don't want Fighting Spirit to be removed...
As for Luna, although I wouldn't mind an old school map being part of the map pool, save for Longinus (which is an exception since 3-player maps are rarely appreciated and/or balanced), I don't think Monty Hall would be part of the map pool, and if the players had a choice, I don't think they would want Blue Storm either. For TelecoM wanting it, although your donation is greatly appreciated, I expected it out to be the goodness of your heart, not expecting something in return. Maybe next season I can use Luna along with one or two other old school map.
I think the reasoning for players nowadays not wanting maps like Nostalgia and Luna is because the builds nowadays don't match with those maps at all. Nostalgia's natural doesn't even have a gas, which would force Zerg players to either get an expansion far away, or go 9pool speedling. It's not an ideal map for Terran mech play. The giant chokes aren't ideal for Forge fast expand. I'm not saying these are the reasoning for not using these maps, I'm saying these are the reasoning for players not wanting them. I, personally, could play on any map and have a fun time... Except Heartbreak Ridge. Fuck Heartbreak Ridge.

dat balance. Yea, considering we are all korean pro gamers....you know, those stats are completely relevant....

I find that players generally feel more comfortable on maps if they can watch games of high level players aka top foreigners + korean tournaments playing on the map...

There's nothing wrong with that.
What's wrong with Circuit Breaker, Ground Zero, Icarus or even something like Empire of the Sun?
There are a ton of decent four player maps that aren't played very often. They're all pretty different from Fighting Spirit. You can have variety without having to put silly maps in. Arkanoid would give variety.

Arkanoid would give variety. I wanna avoid using the same maps from last season, save for Fighting Spirit, because of course, it's a staple in every league. So with that, I want to avoid using Empire of the Sun and Ground Zero. And according to the poll, we have to assume that Circuit Breaker will be replacing Colosseum. If someone can find a BWMN map that's 4-player that would appreciate an exposure in a league, hit me up. (I'm not going to use just the maps that SWBI uses, because that would just make it a reject SWBI league).
With that, I want 8 maps in the pool, 3 4-player maps, 2 3-player maps, and 3 2-player maps, so that I can get a fair amount of rotation among the maps and so that finalists can get map vetoes in.

In replacing Toad Stone, because of it's likeness and similarity to Fighting Spirit, I've been thinking about removing it with one of either Freakling's maps or CrystalDrag's maps, unless the players really don't mind Toad Stone.
Poll: BWMN map?(4) Toad Stone (10) 77% (4) VIN (1) 8% (4) Roadkill (1) 8% (4) ChemLab (1) 8% 13 total votes Your vote: BWMN map? (Vote): (4) VIN (Vote): (4) Roadkill (Vote): (4) ChemLab (Vote): (4) Toad Stone

Toadstone is a great map. Collo meets Arcadia meets FS.
BTW, do any of you older players remember Arcadia? What about Memory Cell?? Gosh, the post-Luna macro maps were sometimes exciting as hell. Check them out:
Arcadia + Show Spoiler +
Memory Cell (PGT map, ~2005) credit to trcc + Show Spoiler +
I would love to see a tour on these maps someday.

Aha, TelecoM recommended Arcadia to me, but I would rather just put Judgement Day (which in my opinion, is virtually the same) in the map pool later on. As for Memory Cell, I've never even heard of that map before, but one day, I might put (2) Paradoxx next season, LOL...

If we're going to for 2 player maps that are a bit off-beat, why not go a little less extreme and therefore more popular and go with something like Loki 2? My favorite Kespa map. It's like Blue Storm + God's Garden + a more dramatic Alternative >^o^<

Rush Hour III is imho one of the best maps, which do not provide a big fighting field and generally tight maps.
It plays out really different than normal maps, but it does not get too freaky (like Outsider sometimes), so this might also be a nice 3 player map to think about.

And also, the 32 players have been finalized, I will be posting their username, TL ID's, and races in the OP and group selection will go down on Saturday, Jan 04 2:00am GMT (GMT+00:00).

If everyone donates 5-10$ we could have a pretty nice prize pool! Better make it 10$ unless you want to be outdone by telecom Any chance we could have a running total of the prize pool in the OP?

If you guys don't mind, when you donate, PM me saying that you donated and your name. Hard to distinguish a username by someone's real name.

Map pool will be finalized on the day of group selections.
