some people are better at math than others
some people learn maps faster than others
herp derp So they are superior at an aspect of the game, within the confines of the game. How does that not make them better players again?
So Jealous, your of the opinion that the better tennis player would win if the tennis court was filled with obstacles to jump over as opposed to the standard tennis court? lol...
Naybe you don't feel as harsh towards Triathlon but to me it's so different that I think it's a fair comparison. You have literally 5 expansions on top of each other. The natural is so small and clumped. The map looks sloppy. Eggs to kill with arbiter hiding them. I could go on and on the map isn't even close to a standard map.
So saying the better player wins on non-standard is no different then the tennis court analogy.

No. I'm saying that both people have the option of learning the details of the court beforehand, and if one player learns them better than the other, then he is a better player given the constraints of the tournament. In a different tournament on a different court, he might be inferior. But given the constraints, he is superior.
This argument is pretty pointless.

Thinking about it, a better format woulda been like:
Both players veto one(or two maps). First map gets chosen out of non-veto'd map. Next maps are picked by last loser.
But it's kinda late now.

But it's kinda late now. I agree. Also, like I said before, having the entire map list up from the start.
Well, for next time! ^^; Hope there will be more of these despite the drama.

But it's kinda late now. If you could veto 2 maps this would be perfect.

my opinion ^^ Practicing cheese builds will hardly improve a player's ability to cheese or improve the thinking they approach the game with. However, learning the mechanics of the game and manipulating them is what creates a strong cheese player. If you don't know the mechanics of the game and how you are forcing your opponent to feel uncomfortable and adapt to your build with strong mechanics, you are playing a coin flip game. In other words, you are hoping for a cheap win rather than having the ability to make a game plan that will literally force your opponent to be mechanically competent by employing different variations in your 'creative cheese strategy.' If you don't go through this process then your build is based on pure luck, you will not see long term improvements, and you're wasting both players time from the perspective of skill development. If you want to avoid the coin flip cheese approach then learning how the game works first by standard play, then by incorporating cheese strategies will yield consistent results and long term improvement as long as you can find opponents who are mechanically competent, which you probably won't find in a C rank tournament or even on iCCup. That being said, I also don't understand the map pool for this tournament and many other foreign tournaments at all levels.
yeah , weird strat = force your opponent to employ different variation while you are somehow in advantage. example we may think scout is a useless unit but some still use Scout for a purpose but of course it wont work on pro level. i am not talking about cheese lol , example will be jaedong vs Snow on Triathlon , is so different that is entertaining. so thats my point , not practicing all in bunker rush , 4 pool etc..

I really would like a grudge match with ShotCoder bo7 (says he was on the phone and he could win a BO7)
Also a grudge match with Lumire BO7 (Noones boy and noone thinks I am super chobo)
Also a grudge match with fold ( asking how do people let me win since I am so chobo).
If Sayle or Noone/ someone else would be willing to cast this. To spice things up I will even be willing to put some money on the line if they win (IE: probably paypal).
EDIT: I reserve the right to use some hotkeys. I normally use none but I do know a few.
I won't mention this anymore until tourney is over though as I don't want to take any spotlight every from that. Just want to see if anyones interested.
g'night

I said I was on the phone but I never said I would win a BO7 but I will gladly accept a BO7 grudgematch as long as it is casted. I'd be willing to throw a little bet on the table as well. We can discuss everything when the tour is over so you can focus on what cheese you will perform in the RO8. =P
btw you better win.

I'm thinking of organizing another one of these as well as a possible C Ranks Teamleague if their is sufficient interest.

I'm guessing kinda like CPL back in the day where there will be teams of 6-8 players playing each other PL style.
I would actually love there to be another CPL since this time I could actually coach...
