Kaal's International Starleague leaves the Round of 64 over and done. There were many good matches, and whereas great players like Sziky, GoD, Kolll and fan favorites like Shauni and Bakuryu have advanced, we also leave behind the fallen in Whistler, Karate, LML, as well as invite AlfiO and Game's favourite MaD[AoV]. If you have missed any of the action ("the action" being Sayle's 12 hour long cast (!)) check out many of the VODs on:

Kaal ISL Youtube Channel

On Saturday (September 10th, 19:00 CEST - 17:00 GMT (+00:00)) we bounce right into the Round of 32. The cast, as always, will be provided Sayle and EleGant, as we course through 16 Best of Fives, all with a spot for the next round at stake.

PREVIEW

Video by Dan1870220133262

There are enough matches to look out for. Sziky vs Octzerg has two top foreign zergs facing off, Michael(OD) takes on Australian streaming hero GoD, Ace the SniperZerg got a BYE against Ramms, but now has to prove his skill in the fickle ZvZ matchup against DeSka, and in Kolll vs CastrO we have two more foreign legends with one doomed to elimination.
Here are Game's thoughts on the Round of 32:

Game said:
OctZerg vs Sziky can be a tournament changing match. With the given luck addition to ZvZ, both are great players and both could easily make it to the finals. andrey + SzajnA are both weak TvT but strong players, so it will be interesting. Pro7ecT will have his first test after winning the last defiler tournament by playing a Shauni-esque opponent. Michael and GoD is by far the 3rd best match after OctZerg + Sziky and Ace + DeSka, but most likely will provide the most entertainment due to not being ZvZ. PatrrOn vs TerrOr will ultimately decide who the king of South America is. Ace and DeSka was the semifinals match last ISL, a nice repeat so early in the tournament. And I'm sure people can't wait to see what kind of play Plumbum will pull out to defeat such a mechanical monster like dsaqwe. Last but not least, TechnicS and Kashu are both crowd favorites who can deliver compelling play and ultimately the most likely surprising series.
Game: With so little TvZ, the imbalance of Empire of the Sun becomes null. However, it might make for a fair 3rd or 4th game in Kashu vs TechnicS. Other than that, Icarus with all of these mirror matchups can only enhance Shauni + Pro7ecT, SneazeL + trutaCz, possibly Bakuryu's, and Kashu + TechnicS's series.

Need more hype? Scoot over to Hacklebeast's interviews to get to know some of these players a bit better!

Tournament Rules
+ Show Spoiler [TOURNAMENT RULES] +
  1. The absolute and most important rule is that LRM)Game holds full discretion over ISL2 decisions and procedures.

  2. You must use chaoslauncher for 1.16.1 or MiniLauncher for every group stage and tournament game on Fish server.

  3. No smurf accounts. Your account must be played with your known ID in it. If you are found out to be smurfing, you will be disqualified and no further participation in the tournament will be allowed. If you are worried about which ID you should use, PM LRM)Game at account Game on teamliquid.net. If you feel that not smurfing gives you an unfair disadvantage, you must appeal to LRM)Game at account Game on teamliquid.net. We will then give you a predetermined smurf name. Failure to comply will lead to disqualification.

  4. All names must begin with ISL2. Ex: ISL2-Kaalveiten ISL2_NoOne [ISL2]Sayle.

  5. If you want to make a new name, you must inform us.

  6. In order for previous hackers or abusers to play in ISL2, they will need to provide certain things to LRM)Game or Hakurei[AoV] which will be handled on a case to case basis. All discretion for this is held by the ISL2 Counter Abuse Team.

  7. No hacking or abusing. This is very very basic. No multiple or shared accounts. No letting other players on your accounts. No taking free wins from friends. No selling wins. No playing against your own account. If suspected of abuse, failure to comply with ISL2 staff will result in a disqualification from the tournament.

  8. All Kaal's International StarLeague matches must be played with a referee present.

  9. No Korean IP addresses.

  10. All ladder replays must be saved for your own safety and submitted at the end of each stage to LRM)Game at isl2replays@gmail.com.

  11. Any major issues that concern anything to do with names, rules, or disqualification, need to be PMed to Game at Teamliquid.net

  12. All games must be played on /dnd mode. You cannot use the same map twice.

  13. Anything a referee tells you during the proceedings of the matches goes; be very attentive to the rules they announce per week. Additionally, rules might have slight alterations throughout the entirety of the tournament.

  14. Scouting via gases, observers over turrets, hold position lurkers, all variations of legal play are allowed.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:

There will be NO official referees for the Round of 32.

It's pretty simple actually. We do have one person who can be there, but not officially. Aside from that - if you are playing - follow these steps and you should be fine.

Obviously follow the tournament rules. Listen to Sayle before anyone starts their matches so he can start casting a match before the replays start being sent in. Michael + GoD and SneazeL + trutaCz you can't start your match until Sayle tests lag with either one of you, and then once he confirms, the other two can start.

The winner of each match must submit all of the replays, wins AND losses. Upload all of the replays to sendspace.com and then e-mail the link to isl2replays@gmail.com like you have been doing the entire tournament, but with more emphasis on 100% of the replays being uploaded to sendspace.

If there are any major issues, they will be dealt with later on in the day or the next day. Save all SS's if you run into an issue so you have a side to your case besides he said, she said.

The reason that there will be no referees is that all of us learned on the same day, roughly around the same time, that we have very important events in our life that need attention far worse than our e-lives. I apologize on behalf of all of the ISL2 staff for this inconvenience, but it's a necessity. The person who will most likely be back from his event first is JoeKim. Hope for the best.

What is "Scouting via gases"? Is it where you spam your worker to a gas geyser then shift click into the opponent's base to go through his unit(s) blocking ramp? Because that move is illegal everywhere.

Glad so many Terrans made it through considering how few they were in comparison to Ps and Zs earlier. It's unfortunate that there are 3 TvTs in this round though.

Simple typo. He's a Z player. Beyond that, I don't have to stop predicting against you whether I'm right or wrong. I believe what I believe, but thank you for your Christian opinion. + Show Spoiler +
That what I believe is wrong in your eyes, therefore I must not believe it.

looking forward to watching the ro32, even though im still bitter im not in it.

Dave i donno why you think octzerg has a good chance of beating sziky, much less winning the entire tournament, but imo whoever advances from that first "bracket" (sziky astro oct pro7ect etc..) will win the tournament, unless stopped by pike or kolll.

rooting for zaraki/dsaqwe/jumper/god/astro and all LRM members! and for whoever to advance to make the semis/finals not all zvzs, fuck why so many zergs lol

Have faith young padawon, do look up OctZerg's past results and take into consideration he was the first person to A+ in TSL2. By far one of the strongest players left in this tournament.

The person who eliminated Morrow was much worse than the person who eliminated OctZerg. Despite that, OctZerg was the first to A+, MorroW got to A when worse people got higher ranks and then played D players until he got A+ from mid-A.... c'mon, bad comparison imo.
