3 gate goon is not a happyface build.

I know pros have to be unpredictable, but I'd rather Stork had the confidence to open with either 1-2 gate robo or with a DT build of his own. Stork risked a build order loss, and got it.
My strategy is to fork people.

wtf stork? this is inferior build in pvp. Not 4gate and cant beat 2 gate robo, serves nothing. There is time for robo at 3 gates.

I'm not surprised by seeing the team flag after reading this. Your standard 1 gate tech into 2 gate zealot sairs against someone who either couldn't see that with runby lings or couldn't react accordingly.

People can't see everything in every game and thus reactions won't be optimal in every single situation. That's why some games are recommended and some games are not.

Anyway, Shuttle beat Stork with a gay build that requires 25 apm and significantly less iq and he's the worst player in the world and he doesn't deserve to be a progamer.

What? A stargate is an assumed part of 1gate tech, and Hero had very early hydras for that very reason. What are you talking about?

I happen to think it's even more a BO win situation than ZvZ, there are no auto-lose builds in ZvZ and a good player can overcome any BO loss with good micro and decision making, something that's much more difficult to accomplish in PvP, if not simply impossible.

Aww man we are falling hard, a couple more losses and it's the bottom of the table... I lost hope in JangBad early this season but I was hoping TurN/Reality could take a couple games.

I just popped by to say that Stork's build and execution of it against is awesome, I'd recommend it without hesitation. Very good strategy. Love how stork continues to innovate in PvZ, I really liked his drop builds too.

Spoilers for what happened in the game:

Stork opens 1 gate core -> stargate. Early sairs are very powerful, and the micro he had to pull off the harass with 2zeal 1goon is really good too. Hero fell really behind because he couldn't drone up & lost drones, lost too many overlords because he couldn't fend against the corsairs, and forced to put up early den but yet struggled to make enough hydras because of the great corsair harass that limited hydra production. The follow up was perfect; Hero had no choice but to mass hydras, stork cannons up with an expansion and goes templar tech and waits for the timing where both templar had enough energy to storm one each, as well as +1 speedlots. Speedlots and storm decimate hydras and forms an archon after both HT use up their storms. The Archon & +1 speedzeals finish it off, complete overkill. Very well thought out strategy IMO, really shows that 1base strategies can be viable as an alternative to forge FE play to throw zergs off once in a while

Agreed. In ZvZ you can 12 pool every game with basically no risk whatsoever. It will put you behind a 12 hatch, but not by a large amount, and gas is usually more important. In ZvZ you can get full scouting all the way until you get mutalisks. ZvZ is intense, and sometimes you have to act in a split second on something the opponent does, but that's all part of the matchup. As Hydra said about the MSL final against Great. "I assumed that if we used mirror builds, I would win." If you play ZvZ with that mindset, you will beat any player that is worse than you. I actually think ZvZ is more fair than ZvT and ZvP. In those matchups one player can easily surprise the other with an unorthodox build or timing attack, while in ZvZ you can play completely safe and just mirror the lesser players build and win easily. The hardest part about ZvZ is that you can't slack off and lose concentration, but this is true for the other mirrors too, although the tide can change a lot faster in ZvZ.

In PvP, scouting is the main issue. You can only scout until the first dragoon gets out, and then you have to guess what he's doing. And we all know PvP is hard counter heaven.

Since I didn't want to duo race, I switched to Terran because of PvP randomness. I think PvP is the only matchup where you can't transition into mid/lategame completely safe. This used to be true for PvZ too, but then came Forge FE and the Bisu Build and changed everything.
