What was the point of recalling there in that situation? ![]() So true though. ^ Bisu was up two bases on him, and Light wasn't even trying to take a 4th or anything. Light didn't have him contained or anything either. And I doubt Bisu was maxed.

Camp with uber tanks, do some drops, then sit and watch while protoss recalls into mines and then just role out and own with uber tanks gg no re. Protoss took an early lead, which allowed him to easily take a third and then fourth and fifth base, with Terran stuck on three bases Protoss got a roaring economy, lots of gates, upgrades going, and arbiters. Protoss heavily favored to win, Terran's only choices are to expand (very hard versus recall and so many expendable zealots) or push out with a 200/200 ridiculous upgrades EMP + Tank + Vulture w/goliath attack and try to EMP enough arbiters + catch the Protoss army in an unfavorable enough position that massive gateway reinforcements can't make up the difference. Terran is holding a small number of locations, so Protoss cannot make any effective attack, including recall. Protoss uses recall, sacrificing 40+ food and a pile of arbiter energy. Terran takes that blessing and rushes the fuck out of Protoss before he can refill his army -- > Terran wins. I do find it a little obnoxious that Terran can always turtle up to a death blob regardless of how far behind they are (on a map with a fairly easy third) but three base Terran is perfectly manageable provided you the Protoss know your role in the game.

Terrans will just simply not let you recall without paying a heavy price anymore. Stasis is still useful but storm actually kills shit, especially important vs high upgrade Terran. I miss those oldschool games of breaking a terran push with goon/zlot/ht with shuttle support. I miss classic reach,Ra, jangbi overrunning a terran siege line. Yeah, I agree with Terrans becoming much better at handling recalls. Storms would have helped so much, and it's not like Bisu was hurting for resources.

I miss those oldschool games of breaking a terran push with goon/zlot/ht with shuttle support. I miss classic reach,Ra, jangbi overrunning a terran siege line. I think it's because of two reasons: 1. Progamers are still stuck with the recall --> win mentality. Arbiters have a lot of merits, and offers Protoss units even greater mobility. If the Terran player is off-guard, one successful recall can be game-ending. 2. High Templars are hard to use, even for progamers. They walk slower, and tend to fall behind. Unless positioned perfectly (shuttles needed, often), they aren't going to be much use. Also, HTs cost a lot of gas, and those could be spent on arbiters and upgrades.

I think it's mostly that shuttle/templar are more effort to use. Although a true baller Protoss should really be using shuttle/templar AND arbiters. Recall is also very handy against a Terran who tries to slow push or otherwise take a position on the map. It's useless if Terran is turtling on less than four bases, in which case you should not recall. And ideally, Protoss would bring a bloody speed observer with the arbiter.

He had one, but it died to the turrets before reaching the mineral line. And he had it in order to draw turret fire away the Arbiter, not to check on the minefield. EDIT: lol brainfart I couldn't remember what the terran air defense was called T_T
