Saying a spawning pool costs 200 minerals is totally reasonable. That's what most people think of when they think of the cost of a pool... ...if someone comments about a zerg having really good macro, they're not going to say "wow that zerg never lets his minerals get above 350." They're going to say 300, cause that's what they think of when they think of the price of a hatch. | ||

If you insist on using opportunity cost instead of listed cost, the correct cost for the Spawning Pool isn't 250. It's 200 plus the number of minerals that drone would have mined for the rest of its life. The original 50 is a sunk cost paid when the drone was built that doesn't affect any economic decisions you make after the fact. Therefore, the SCV analogy is relevant--according to your reckoning, the cost of any Terran building would be (building cost) + (minerals SCV can mine per second)(seconds to build). | ||

Also, by this logic a reaver harass that kills 50 drones didn't really do any damage because those drones were already paid for right? They're a "sunk cost." It's a pretty simple concept. SCVs are usable after building something. Drones disappear. Why this should even be a debate is beyond me. | ||

My assertion was that with his shuttle Stork would have handily defended that and would have had a much easier time breaking the push on his nat due to Flash having a much less deadly force in one place. | ||
