TvT Vultures?

There is something here ,that I cant understand.How the vultures work at maps like Temple and JR.Memory and Gaema.I watched many replays and read some reports and when one of the terans go for 3 facory vultures the other terran do the same thing like he'll be dead if he do not counter vultures with vultures and thats what I cant get it ,It looks easy to stop mass vultures at your entrance with few vultures and goliats/tanks + few scv and then when u mass goliats or tanks u can atack over mines (your army will kill them when they pop out)and u;ll kill easy him(IMO vultures are no match against many goliats/tanks)and if u make some kind of drop is even worse for the vulturing terran(is it possible to stop 2 dropships with 8 goliatsh with 20 vultures?)I say that coz I often lose that way when trying to use vultures but there must be some kind of trick with them coz as i wrote at every single replay I watch or report i read when teran goes for vultures the other teran also use vultures so...??what to do with them ?(maps with high ground entrance)And do not write : u can always make through the entrance with many vultures if he tries to stop u with goliatsh/tanks because if this is true protoss wil always die to mass vultures (protoss cannot make many vultures for defence)

basically on maps with no cliff(gamea, nos, plains etc.), u have to vulture. on these types of maps playing tvt no longer invovles strategy. because no matter what u scout u should always go vulture

well i think really vultures are effective, one because they are fast, mines really help, and they work, but they also allow you to expand...if you dont expand by going goli//tank you have to put money into that to beat the vulture whlie he is getting an expo...

I usually go for 6-7 vultures. One situation is that my opponent closes his ramp and vultures now means late tech for me and only a little bit late expansion for him.

The reason is:

It works

Seriously, I first didn't understand but look:
90% of average TvT players make fly their barracks, so you can get in the base sometimes ---> vultures.
Vultures are usually upgraded with mines and speed, so you cannot leave your base as fast as you would want to. Also, his barrack is flying through your base so he can counter your tech more or less easily.

Also, while you are containing your enemy, you are producing such cheap units and you are able to have extra gas, more than if you were producing tanks from the beggining. It's like the PvZ where you are rushing and microing zeals while you get gas and don't tech but zerg is usually doing ONLY mass lings to counter you so he will die against your big cock (amount of gas spent with templars/archons :O) when he tries to fuck you with his hidralisks/mutalisks/lurkerlisks/lingisks.

Thats what I am talking about ,u can contain him with vultures but the late tech makes u very vulnerable

I don't think so, because in case the other techs and blocks entrance you have to know how to react. Exploring is the key.

Vults are pretty easily countered, on any map.

HovZ, since when are there no cliffs on Gaema/Nostalgia...? Maybe you meant no ground accessible cliffs? But wait! Those are on p2h. Hmm!

ObsoleteLogic, correct me if i'm wrong, but don't things go like : easily counterable strat => weak strat => do not do often, you die many times. But ILoveoov v Nada, kind of a big big series, both go for this weak and easily counterable strat... odd no?

WTF coudl HoVz be any more stupid?, how do you say vults are stupid on ramp maps, they are very usefully forcing the opponent to stay in his base and then you can add a couple of tanks forcing him to go drop and with ho expansion.

One of the counters is to make more vultures than the other guy (;

Put it this way; vultures used by 95% of the BW population are easily counterable. Example:

TvT, myself at 6, opponent at 3. He goes vultures, I go 1 fact tank > expo. Good Micro > initial vulture rush. If he's really stupid, he keeps pushing with vultures and loses them. Otherwise he places a few mines, usually very poorly (i.e., in visual range of a turret on cliff). Most players would put one where I intend to land my CC, but two tanks with seige can take care of that.

A wise and mighty Korean, however, would place a lot of mines, and place them well, and I'd possibly lose a tank trying to get rid of them (if I were careless/sloppy). The delay/potential loss of unit(s) is that much of a set back that the vulture rush was successful.
