my general z vs terran mech advice to struggling D/D+ players:
stop fighting mech as if its bio cus they are totally different try to avoid fighting his army directly, use mass mutas and hydra drops when he moves out, while focusing on making a huge army with upgrades and getting a good economy going. abuse the lack of mobility, wear him down with this while making mostly hydra/muta with upgrades and avoiding hive tech for a while. defilers are ok, ultras are pretty bad considering their cost and how tanks demolish them, guardians are alright but so are just a fuckton of mutas and hydras, but none of hive tech is good unless you already have a huge army of lower tech units. trying to defend with a small/medium sized army with defiler like you would do versus bio is terrible, as is going fast guardian or any other such stupid idea. oh and mutalisks are your friend, after you mass up a lot of them it's really hard for him to be able to defend both his bases + his army if his army's outside of his base.
also if you say start out with like a group of mutalisks and show them (but dont focus on harassing obv, and for god's sakes dont try to be cute with mutas or rush them like you do vs bio), start muta armor upg, then for a while go/show heavy hydralisks and stop mutas, then you should save up enough money and be able to hatch a bunch of mutas very fast. this can be very effective way to stop the midgame push they will likely do, since he will likely be more tank heavy, goliath weak.
oh and early early game you want to find out if he's going 2star or what, sacrifice an OL or if he has low marines due to a block, send a few zerglings in right after the first vulture leaves his base (you can see with OL). find out the right timing of when you need a sunk, dont let him run vultures by and get 1 spore per base up just in time if he's going wraiths

How do I beat X unit composition with Y unit composition?
It reminds me of a thread a while ago where someone asked how to react to cheese when he doesn't scout until after building the Cybernetics Core. rofl i like reading that thread sometimes "OMG I NEED 8 MINS OR MY BUILD BE LATED CUS I DONT GET NUFF MINS LESS I SCOUT AFTER CORE N LOSE 2 CHEESE HOW DO I DO THIS WHEN I GET 2ND GATE B4 GOON AND GOT NO ZEALOTS!!!!" such a bad thread
bad... but lulz-worthy help me find that thread again?

I really dont think that massing hydras and lings are gonna do anything... gol>ling tank>hydra so i think massing mutas is the way to go. It lets me kill off mines, catch up with vultures, expo everywhere because of the mobility and keep him in the base. Now that I think of it, 3 vessels IS nothing as I could've just ran into his main and kept scourges around to snipe the vessels forcing the T to run back. I guess it was just my macro, with 1000 minerals and 700 gas T_T but the question is still whether to go muta hydra or muta ling for a muta build. The idea is that the gols will attack the mutas while my lings come in and start attacking the gols. Getting hydras is sort of gas heavy... i need the hydra range and speed. So what do you think? And melee/range or carapace is more important?

You use muta / hydra. Don't let him take third gas. If he somehow takes 3rd gas you should have 5 or so. Transition into crackling / ultra / hydra late with a muta switch when he gets cocky and stops goliath production. Upgrade air CARAPACE. Upgrade out of 3 evos.

wut?
DO NOT GO FOR A CRACKLING/ULTRA TRANSITION AGAINST MECH.

I have said this before, but the most basic and rather most important thing when playing vs mech is your army composition, mutaling doesnt force tanks AT ALL, thats a shitload of gas for valks, vessels, upgrades and whatever, go muta + hydra.

It's played on B-. I think Vessels are slightly worse than Valkyries when it comes to countering mutas. However, they are useful vs defilers in the late game. Pure gosuness Love the great turret wall, you see something new everyday. A question: I was theorycrafting with a T friend about the vaibility of mass tank/valkyrie with 1 group of goliath support, and we concluded that mass muta/scourge would be the correct counter, but we are not sure of the effectiveness of air +1 attack for valks, what do you think?
How about ultraling with some spores -_-;;
Also, i dont think you can even have a group of valks before it bugs.
