I'm sure there's some lurker attacks I could do, but probably shouldn't focus on that if I want to be the most consistent.

Your defiler is mainly to defend vs bio tank pushes, if you skip it you can easily die to a timing. Your map control timing is after you saturate your bases nicely (about 1.5 drones per patch), have like 3-4 hatches total in your main and ~3 hatches at your corner expo. Once you have your infrastructure setup move down to take your 4th and start pumping ultra ling (the faster you get an evo for carapace the stronger your timings become). A move terran with ling/ultra/defiler after that, ideally you just wanna get plagues off on vessels and pick them off later with 2-3 mutas. If you execute the b.o cleanly you'll just end up rolling T most of the time tho.

You can also shoot the buildings to dmg via bounce but from safe range of getting hit.

I prefer Patrol. That way you can fly sideways and still shoot without accidently get deep into range of Marines. Im not a Z expert though.

i tried doomdropping but every now and then I play a P who keeps a dark archon and high templar in his main. maelstrom + storm on the ovies, etc... I think hydras are garbage in these games but I am not sure what would work.

And try to split them apart to avoid storms. Tho guardians are clumsy and, although they have a longer range than cannons, they tend to enter they range ![]()

I think hydras are garbage in these games but I am not sure what would work. It's a lost fight for zerg unless you have economical dominance. Any map split, even +1 base for zerg favours defensive protoss who will overtime accumulate enough gas / energy to mass templar / mass da / mass archon to victory.

What can work is having lings in overlords meanwhile attacking the front of an expansion, move overlords above reavers and drop em around to keep Reavers shooting as Melee, this will give you time to get into the mix with mass lings or hydras to destroy em. Preferrably is ofc swarm+plague on everything meanwhile doing drops+entrance attack. Quite a micro task but thats why people play Z. The micro is insane but its fun ![]() Ultimate late game army is simply 3-3 lings/ultras/lurkers, swarm+plague+drops, while hydras is more focused vs air or places where you dont swarm, you could swarm your own location of army ofc but that can just as well work against you if you have no melee forces. And as koget says if its even you need to work extra hard to make it uneven again.

If reaver cannon da, guardian is your best bet. I couldn't break him, he put the templars in shuttles, when I would attack he would unload, storm, reload. Maybe an endless stream of zergling would work
