Hallucinating arbiters is the most common i'd say. I've seen it on top protoss streams, when you're supposed to get an arbiter behind a turret line. Or to draw en EMP from an awaiting vessel.

And lol at the idea that hallucinated zealot would cause the splash damage to real units be double.. hehehehe They don't make the actual damage fired double, they simply soak the damage double. Otherwise it would make no sense logically.

Is there something wrong with Muta micro in remastered? I just downloaded it and they wouldn't work almost at all. I used to play BW regularly and loved playing with mutas, always used hold command (could never get patrol working right). Now I tried using patrol and literally they wouldn't fire... at all. I made due with attack move, but poorly. I recall them being way more responsive and quicker to fire.

Probably just the latency you are facing. Haven't heard of problems with muta micro.

I thought I heard the latency was supposed to mimic prior iCCuP? I never used to have issues.

OK confirming it's definitely standard latency as a friend created a game with reduced latency and it was a million times better.

So no intention of them reducing ladder latency...?

hehe, you're right...there should have been no need to test it if I had simply thought about it a bit more..but hey..i'm a zerg player...i don't dwell on PvT mechanics (at least that's my excuse for not recognizing something so obvious)

Lmao. I just died in the most noobiest manner possible. PvZ, I'm facing a zerg going two base with an insanely fast queen. I think it's a noob, I am so confident that I will win since his BO is so weird. A couple minutes later, he rolls over my two stacks of +1 speedlots with like six ultralisks.

1. this reminded me of something, wtf do I do against ultralisks as Toss? that shit is powerful. I am guessing that I need mass reavers or archons? But how the hell am I supposed to get them that fast? I played standard and so I had excellent map control with a fleet of sairs. If he played standard, I would have most likely won. but he went fast ultras and that really shocked me. I guess I should have made more cannons?

2. 2nd question is, do I go for obs first or templar archives first in PvZ? Isn't it safer to go for Templar Archives first and then go for obs? I always wondered about this.

Since you already had sair, seems reasonable to have piked said/dt. But yes, archons are good vs ultralisks.

If he went ultra that fast, he doesn't have enough hydra to stop your sairs. Dt with sair punishes fast ultra.

if he went ultra that fast, he doesnt have enough of anything to stop anything. assuming your macro isnt awful and you werent banking 3k minerals at 15mins, u could literally just throw units at him while he tries to "rush" ultras.
he either dies, or he panic builds sunkens and whatever unit he can afford to defend, at which point youve won because like you said, youre playing standard and he fked up his build

I think you underestimate this case, evilflash. If you face a total noob, then yes, macro is enough, but not if the guy is experienced or a decent player. I've had some bad games doing exactly this (in TvZ), seeing a Z tech to hive super fast and trying to end the game before he gets there.
They need surprisingly little economy to build the bank for a bunch of ultras + lings and they get there in no-time, they CAN afford a ridiculous amount of sunkens + some lings to hold of any premature attack, and like Sheridan experienced, no: even if you macro well, the ultras will run over what you have if you don't use it very carefully, because that's Zerg, they can invest almost everything into army in contrast to P or T. The fast tech of Zerg forces you to tech also, you don't know what they will go for, so even more of your resources might be misplaced.

I think you have to scout them very well and pick the best counter to what you see, be it Ultras, Guardians, drops. At first, it's not discernable from lurker rush, too. It's by no means a dumb strategy for Zerg, it means they can get a strong high-tech attack that will force you off the map, giving them a timing to grab another base or two.

I ain't that much of a noob. I wasn't floating at all. I just really didn't expect ultras and I made zero dts even though I had a 9 sairs. He had no hydras. I should have gone for dts... Completely forgot. Once I saw his ultras I ran back to my cannons but it was no use. I got thrashed. I am a noob for not using dts though. If I made them as soon as I saw ultra, I would have stopped him. Instead I made HT.

Never played with sair dt before. I really want to try it now. The zerg also went adrenal glands and had a ton of lings

How exactly does breaking through protoss shields work, in detail, and how does it interact with armor? Some edge cases I'm not sure about:

1) Unit has 100 HP, 1 shield, 0 armor, 0 shield armor. Attack does 6 damage. Result:

A) 95 HP, 0 shield
B) 100 HP, 0 shield
C) Other

2) Unit has 100 HP, 1 shield, 1 armor, 1 shield armor. Attack does 6 damage. Result:

A) 97 HP, 0 shield
B) 96 HP, 0 shield
C) 100 HP, 0 shield
D) Other

3) Unit has 100 HP, 3 shield, 3 armor, 3 shield armor. Attack does 7 damage. Result:

A) 100 HP, 0 shield
B) 96 HP, 0 shield
C) 100 HP, 2 shield
D) Other

I ordered options by how likely I think they are, but not 100% sure on any.

even if both players were decent, there is no way a zerg can get ultras up at the same time toss only has 2 groups of zealots without either getting facestomped earlier or facestomped immediately after.
9 sairs against no hydras is no different to near-maphack + constant supply block for zerg. sunken defense means toss can get another expo up even earlier (they could even ignore this part) and just sit back until they get 2 reavers and a handful of ht and start bombing sunkens.
pretty much the only way toss lost is by getting a blank during the game because of the unconventional way zerg was playing. you dont need a special way to beat ultras if theyre getting it that early in the game. just play standard and do what youre supposed to do anyway and youll roll them
also you mention fast tech for zerg forces you to tech also, but what you seem to be forgetting is that protoss already has that tech up regardless of whether zerg has gone hive or not. youre not catching up nor reacting to the zerg's tech, you are already ahead in terms of tech that allows you to face ultras.
all you need to do is scout the cavern with your sairs and then produce reavers to match it and youve won. you can either sit at base and let him come or you can go crazy with your air superiority, either way theres nothing zerg can do with that joke of an economy

yes, you are. If a Z sits on 2 base, and techs to ultras- and you have not killed him already while on 2 base yourself, you're a noob.
