The replay timer and the in-game timer when playing use both the same "Blizzard time". Would be very weird if the in-game timer goes by normal time, when you watch a replay.

I watched a replay in 1.18 just now, at least for me both timers show identical times all the time, be it just speeding it up or jumping to different replay times.

Is double scouting common practice or considered acceptable? That is to say, once your first worker reaches the first possible base, and hasn't found the opponent, you send a second worker out so that the remaining two spots are scouted simultaneously? Cheers.

PvZ I would consider it a must on 4 player maps, although you can have a pattern where you use your 1st probe to scout for an incoming overlord, then you can "discard" that base, although good Z's can also scout in a different way that will mess you up.

so i was playing on 1.18 and blizzard made it mandatory to use 1.19 now, so i downloaded the new patch, and for some reason i can't play full screen any more.... it is either windowed full screen, or full screen with black bars on both sides of my screen... any ideas how to fix this?

Moving around siege tanks is cumbersome.

You can build something with an SCV and then shift-click on a mineral patch would make them mine minerals after they're done building.

Is there any way to either 1) unsiege and move or 2) move and siege in one command? Or with chained commands?

your only fix is either playing 1.16, accepting the black bars or playing HD once remastered comes out.
(or you do the thing SNM mentioned in the other thread)
black bars on SD are mandatory in full screen to enable a smooth transition between SD and HD by simply enabling the extra vision and enabling different "sprites" without the need to render/filter in different aspect ratios.

Also it should be mentioned that black bars are the "normal" and generally desirable view of the game in classic SD. Non-black bar display is merely stretching the SD resolution to fit your screen which creates unnaturally fat buildings and in my experience a difference in horizontal vs. vertical mouse speed, which is terrible.

@Bakuryu: Can't you move + shift + unload? Say I send overlord to edge or map then hold shift then tell it to unload at a different location, won't it move to the edge then unload at location? You are right though that sieging doesn't work this way but I think loading/unloading does..

Yes, it works on many units: you can for instance move a unit to location A, then shift patrol to location B. Very useful.

I don't think you can cue things with siege/unsiege or with burrow/unborrow though. I'm still hoping there is a trick out there that helps me moving sieged tanks around.

Jealous you are right, but load/unload is not considered an ability i think, it's just a command like patrol/amove/mmove/hold/stop.

I guess that makes sense for Shuttle/Dropship and they had to allow the same for Overlords for balance or because it was maybe easier to code. Just wanted to check that I wasn't dreaming haha. Thanks.

But yea, no such thing for tanks or other "abilities" of that nature I'm fairly certain.

In ZvZ, if I'm in his base or natural with 6 lings (9 pool speed) and he went 10/12 hatch.. What should i focus on? His hatch, drones, or try to out-micro the lings that are popping out?

drones unless he has them neatly stacked or running them around

then possibly pool if you can get it, but it's a long shot - usually when his pool is a tight wall and his drones can't get around as easily to drill

when the enemy goes carrier and you are clearly ahead, you naturally start pumping goons. But how do I catch the carriers? I almost lost a game because even though I had a shitton of goliaths, he simply kept microing them away so I couldn't close in.

It was his last desperate attempt to get back in the game and I felt like I didn't shut him down with my lead. Next time, what can I do to turn the odds even more in my favor?

What I did was send vults to backstab him when his carriers were in my base.

1. I think I should have made turrets? also an engi bay floating over my minerals would have been good.

2. I guess just delay with goliaths and backstab when his carriers are at my base?

3. The biggest problem is definitely that there is no damn room in my base to move around. late game terran base is a fking mess at times. so my goliaths couldn't close in.

Please let me know some tips on carrier hunting and how to properly react against this.
