I'm actually talking about when you have 4-10 factories before your maxed, and dont have extra money. When I'm maxed I que like 5 vults some games lol.
Why would I play sctoo when I can play BW?

thanks for these. Watched both. I was bracing myself for Jaedong losing as I was watching this lol. Fantasy was on a much higher level in his game against Hoejja imo. Nukes were a nice touch.

When a siege tank has acquired a target that proceeds to move in too close, will it automatically switch to another target that it can actually fire upon?
Disc Golf is Awesome! Thought I'd throw that out there =)

Iam oldschool and pretty familiar with the new metas. I have always updated myself pretty good overall, but hard to know exact everything.

EMP vs Carriers is nearly useless; it removes only 150 shields, leaving 300 HPs; worse, the 300 HPs have the 4 armor, while the shields don't.

Considering Carriers usually stack on top of each other, one EMP could take out over 1000 shields, definitely worth it.


The problem is Carriers without shield still do full damage, and you are going to focus them down one at a time anyway. Range, cast time, sort of slow projectile which doesn't track and Science Vessels dying in half a second to a Carrier group makes it really hard to land. And the payoff is minimal: +1 Goliaths need 19 hits to kill a Carrier without shields, otherwise 25. It's not like it hurts to try, but it really doesn't make much of a difference and EMP is definitely not what stops Protoss players from going for Carriers.

So I have been messing around with 2 hatch muta a lot lately. How much better economically is 12 hatch 12 pool vs 12 hatch 11 pool? The reason is that money is so unbelievably tight in the build, and considering that 2 hatch is already way weaker vs 8 rax than 3 hatch, is there any reason to not go 12 hatch 12 pool?

it's exactly 1 drone better economically.

Joking aside, when you make your pool with 2 hatch muta depends on how you're going to play it. If you are going to be getting ling speed for speedling pre-muta attack than you should probably go 12 hatch 11 pool 10 gas so your speedlings come with minimal marine count. Personally I like to play 12 hatch 13 pool and skip ling speed, because it allows you to take 3rd hatch at 3rd base as you lair finishes and still have money for 2-3 sunkens if you feel your mutas won't be out in time to defend their first mnm push. You will also have the $ to get +1 carapace/attack straightaway when your spire finishes.

Is there a way in BWChart or a similar program to check how high apm you had during a certain timeframe of a replay? I'd like to cut out the first two minutes so they don't count towards my apm.

You mean average apm? As highest apm is stated in BWChart. Well...i dont know for sure, but i would say there is an option were you can decide at which point the timeframe starts. But not sure at all. What i do, is looking at a specific apm line (in my case 100) and check if i was above it all the time. Average or highest APM can be manipulated by muta micro (for example) or spamming keys for no appearent reason (besides warming up / keep the fast typing and clicking).

Yes average apm (preferrably eapm too). Peak apm doesn't mean much imho. I've toyed around in BWChart a lot trying to find an option for it but I really can't find it. Perhaps another program can?

Keep in mind that Lockdown is essentially a one-hit-kill spell from a 25/75 caster, and you don't see many of those either.

I haven't actually used BWChart for years but as far as I recall it didn't count the first two minutes anyway in terms of APM? Anyway, you can use the mca launcher and watch the replay and it will tell you your APM all the way through.

Edit: Ah, it discards the first 80 seconds of the game, not quite the first two minutes.
Q:What is APM?

Actions Per Minute = (the number of actions recorded in the replay file / game duration in seconds) * a minute. The first 80 seconds of the game are discarded.
