Team by Team Breakdown
Potential Losses:
sAviOr,
Iris,
MuchNeeds: There isn't much that CJ needs right now. Even if they lose one of those three, they have a solid or developing replacement in the wings to take over.
Much seems to be the most likely to go, and they may want to pick up an experienced Protoss, but there aren't any that they'd be able to snag in the free agency.
Best Fit: None
Potential Losses:
TesterNeeds: eSTRO needs a superstar to really gear them up. Right now, they consist of a bunch of mediocre players, no one person stands out. With
Tester going, they might want to pick up a leading Protoss, but they've got two good ones in
SangHo and
NonY coming up. They should just focus on grooming someone like the young
Really to develop into a possible star.
Best Fit: None
Potential Losses:
LuxuryNeeds: KTF needs one thing: a Protoss. They desperately need someone to fill that void, as their young guns just aren't developing. There's plenty of Protoss talent in this field, but not enough is going to move.
KTF is going to have to go big on this one and chase down either one of the marquis players (
Stork,
Bisu,
free) or they're going to have to settle for someone like
Much or
Pusan and hope their guys develop.
Best Fit:
Pusan - A replacement that won't break the bank, but will be competitive and around for more than a year or so.
Potential Losses: None
Needs: Lecaf's strong race is Terran, where they have
fOrGG,
Lomo,
HiyA and captain
Dongrae. They're also fine at Zerg, where they can pitch out
Jaedong every match. Their biggest hurting point is Protoss. They have the offensive GGer himself,
FailHo, and that's it.
BackHo is a decent option, but they've got no fallback if he slumps.
Young hasn't proven himself useful yet and there really isn't much more there. With
Anytime gone, they need to acquire someone to back up
BackHo. Not necessarily a superstar, but someone solid.
Best Fit:
Much - A solid, second string/alternating starter to buy some time while they develop a younger player like
InteR.YoungPotential Losses:
Pusan,
Sea,
SaintNeeds: Lets face it.
MBC will NOT be able to secure all three of those players, and that's their bread and butter right there. They already lost
Thezerg earlier this season, so they're shallow at Zerg, and odds are a team like
KTF will be able to buy out
Pusan, or someone snags
Saint. The only guarantee they have is
Sea's going nowhere. The problem is, I don't think they have the power to replace these guys. They might get stuck with someone like
JiHyun.
Best Fit: Keeping their guys - Otherwise, they won't have the power to lure some of these heavy hitters away
Potential Losses:
Zeus,
YellOw[ArnC]Needs: OGN needs depth to their lineup. They're also lacking a solid Protoss. With
Leta and Yarnc carrying the team right now, they can't afford a departure of Yarnc without filling the gap or snagging a top-tier Protoss. They need a fix and a fix now, and they'll probably have to cut someone like
Zeus loose to do it.
Best Fit:
Saint - Although it's improbable that they get him, he's a young Zerg who can help shoulder the load with
Leta.
Potential Losses:
Stork,
TT,
JiHyun,
firebatheroNeeds: KHAN needs a solid Zerg.
great doesn't seem like he has the moxie to cut it and they need someone they can rely on as a consistent starter. They're lucky in the fact that there's plenty of
Young talent at the position.
KHAN could easily snag a Yarnc or a
Calm or a
Saint if they so choose. Cutting
JiHyun and
TT loose wouldn't hurt the process, either.
Best Fit:
Calm - A solid young Zerg who can also step into the pressure of an ace game if need be.
Potential Losses:
Bisu,
Midas,
CanataNeeds: T1 needs a lot, really. They need a Zerg and a steadfast Terran wouldn't hurt either. Their Zerg department has been shaky at best and could use another addition - it seems that
Thezerg didn't cut it. Their Terran lineup as well hasn't been all that great outside of
fantasy. Dumping
Canata and dishing
Midas are two very likely things for T1, as well as picking up someone to bolster the once Terran powerhouse.
Best Fit:
Saint and
Iris -
Saint would be a great addition to their Zerg lineup and would provide a spark.
Iris, although is unlikely to leave, could provide another option to go to in order to let the stress off of
fantasy and
BoxeR.
Potential Losses:
SoO,
Hwasin,
July,
CalmNeeds: STX doesn't need much actually.
Hwasin is slumping right now, but that's not a terrible problem. The biggest need will be a replacement for
Calm, but they have a strong B-Team lineup ready for
Action as well. Of course, securing
Calm would be ideal, but it's highly unlikely that they'll be able to do that.
Best Fit: None
Potential Losses:
Rock,
NaDaNeeds: Another team that's in the market for a quality Zerg player, but they could use a Protoss while they're at it. Again, I don't see them snagging one of the big 3 Protoss on the bench, but they could be in the running for a
Much or a
Pusan. Honestly, there's no need to keep Caveman Toss around any longer, and disposing of him wouldn't be a bad idea.
Best Fit:
Much/
Pusan or
Saint/
Calm -
Pusan and
Much would be
great opportunities for improvement, while
Saint or
Calm would give them a reliable Zerg player for the time when
RorO and
keke stop winning.
Potential Losses:
free,
GGPlay,
MaxNeeds: Woongjin is perhaps the one team in the market that is looking for a Terran and a Terran only. They need one desperately, as their best options right now are
MVP or
PianO. They're actually in luck because there should be a dumpoff sale by T1 and they should stumble into a Terran or two.
Best Fit:
Midas - A usually solid all around Terran who may need a change in scenery who can start automatically and fill in a gap.
