I just re-read through KNF, and it starts at the start of 2009 right?

So er, predictions?
I guess I'll make a shortlist of what teams are in dire need of;
KTF: Protoss.
CJ: They already have solid talent forming for all three races, so I don't think it is necessary for them to acquire someone from FA.
eSTRO: Same as above.
Woongjin: A FUCKING DECENT TERRAN.
Lecaf: A Protoss to replace the shadow left by Anytime?
HERO: Dunno
Sparkyz: I think they are fine.
KHAN: A Zerg, most definitely.
T1: A Zerg that is good. This isn't TheZerg.
Soul: No idea.
WeMade: Zerg department definitely, after losing Firefist to KTF.

My true thoughts;
I think teams will be willing to keep their marquee/popular players on huge contracts, so basically that deals Stork, Free, Sea, Hwasin, Nada, FBH, Iris, Savior and Yarnc out of the picture. Those who just joined teams will probably be also out of the picture, so that counts out Bisu, Luxury and GGPlay.

I was under the impression that FA wouldn't start until after this current PL season. Having a FA period right in the middle of a regular season doesn't make any sense.

I believe changes cannot be made to a roster until the beginning of a PL round. Its a new rule can someone verify it please? I believe ACE misses out in this and I disagree w/ Estro. Estro needs reliable ACE b/c they would be guaranteed top 6 if they could win 1/2 of those matches.

I think the top 6 teams need to focus on making sure they don't lose their stars, although most of them are probably pretty secure.
Who does this really leave available? TT, SoO, Zeus, Canata, Calm, Saint, JiHyun, Max are the names that don't jump out at me as must-keeps, although I guess players like Pusan, Midas, and Much wouldn't be impossible to snatch.
Really I'd like it if KTF stole Bisu from SKT, although I'd estimate the chance of that at 0% :D

Yeah, I think FA will start sometime in the fall, after the Proleague finals.
Also, for Khan, they don't need so much a zerg as they do a protoss sniper, because their entire lineup is weak vs. toss except for Stork(who's off and on in the matchup). In another words, the God of War!

IMO the top players in the teams will not change much, unless some team offers a HUGE deal to the player due to a great need for them, but the lesser players might be shuffled around a bit depending on how good they are at specific MUs and how much each team needs a specific MU.

Protoss: Zeus.
Zerg: Luxury, Yarnc
My FA analysis:
- Samsung: Stork is not going anywhere, same as FBH. Samsung wants them, and they want to stay. About TT and Jihyun... well, I don't think they are going to be targeted by any other team.
- SKT: Bisu has a huge contract that few teams can take, one of those being KTF, but I doubt they'll start a player stealing war. Besides, Bisu has no reason to leave. Midas is not doing very well as of lately, but he was there from the beginning, and I think he will end his career at T1. Canata is kinda like Midas, but who knows. A big contract could tempt him. However, he can only offer TvT, and who would throw big money for a one dimensional player?
- WStars: If Free didn't leave 6 months ago, he won't leave now. He loves Stars as much as UpMagic loves eSTRO, and that's saying a lot. GGPlay just returned to his home, and since then he has begun to do well again. I think he learned from the CJ experience. Nowhere like home. Max is a not very tempting veteran who is enjoying his new massage chair in his new state-of-the-art new home. Dead end.
- CJ: Much has been rumored to be considering joining the army. Even if he doesn't, he is due soon, so it would not be worth going all the trouble at this point. Besides, this guy loves CJ. Iris is the captain of CJ, and that alone is a big deal. I admit this guy is very tempting for the terran-thirsty teams, but it would take a huge contract to even make him consider it. Savior? Just... no way.
- MBC: Pusan is MBC Hero. Sea is also a house trademark, but maybe some big money would make him change badges. Saint is hot, and a good zerg seems a rarity this days. He is not gonna lack pretenders.
- eSTRO: Tester himself said he is retiring pretty soon. He might as well end his career at eSTRO.
- STX: sOo has a secret crush on TossGirl. No money can't take him away from his sweetheart. July said he is happy at STX, but he likes chasing big contracts. It's just a matter of how many teams are willing to offer money for a declining God of War. Calm is enjoying a sweet moment at STX, and no reason to leave. Hwasin is the captain of STX. He is not doing well, and maybe if he thinks a change of team will help him, he might consider it.
- WeMade: Nada is this teams soul. His contract is prohibitive for most teams, and he is not the former monster he was. However, if someone wants to afford him, he could leave seeking more playtime. He has switched teams a couple of times already, so who knows. Rock... who would want to take him?
- KTF: Luxury has been devaluated, and no one wants a slumping star with a huge contract.
- OGN: After seeing what happened to his twin, I don't think he is eager to change colors anytime soon. And Zeus is no-want for any team right now.

- KTF: Tempest is still on the making, so they need someone to cover up for him. Obviously Stork, Bisu and Free are out of the question. Pusan would be a dream for them, but it is going to be really hard to convince him. Much is not bad also, but he is on the decline. sOo could be another choice, but I don't think they want another protoss in the making. They already have Tempest.
- CJ: CJ doesn't buy. They create. And the one time they bought, it didn't work as expected.
- eSTRO: Nothing out there that they want and they can afford. Besides, they are well covered.
- Woongjin: MVP and PianO are taking too long to develop. Iris would be the perfect choice. But even Canata will do.
- Lecaf: Personally, I'd think a protoss might be in order, but nothing affordable out there, and it seems they are still betting in zizi yO.
- MBC: They have all three races covered(Sea, Saint, Pusan), and besides, HERO is a selling team, not a buying one. Cheapass managers...
- Sparkyz: Leta and yarnc cover T and Z. They have 2 awesome prospects for P in Tazza and Horang2, and still they do well in PL. Besides, same as MBC: Cheapass managers.
- KHAN: A guy like Calm or Saint could definitely make them favorites in PL, but it looks like they are betting on by.great. Besides, since ChRh, I don't think they have ever bought any player since.
- T1: TheZerg seems to be a big bust. Personally, I think he is talented. Maybe too much pressure since the beginning. I don't think the management is willing to buy a second zerg in such a short period of time, especially since they have been doing pretty decent in PL and such a move could definitely undermine their zerg roster morale even more. However, they have the money, they have a history of buying players, so I wouldn't be surprised if they fish at MBC(again) for Saint, or maybe imitate KTF and try to steal yarnc.

- STX: Kal and Calm are doing good. They need Hwasin to step it up, but while he finds his former self somewhere in there, Iris seems tempting. But they have no moneys. Don't get fooled. They got July on a 50% discount.
- WeMade: Mind and Nada are a very decent duo for terran. Same was supposed to happen with HerO and Pure, but suddenly they lost their magic. They never had a reliable zerg. I personally still believe in HerO and Pure, although I'm starting to lose my faith in them. Keke is an average zerg that won't take you anywhere, and RoRo started good, but is going worse. They need both and experienced toss(Much) to guide the two young ones, and a decent zerg to team up with RoRo. But with Nada's contract, I'm afraid they don't have cap space, and I doubt the team management is willing to go over the cap, luxury tax or not.
I predict few movement, but a blockbuster move could happen if teams like T1 and KTF decide to go on the move. However I woulnd't be surprised if there were no movements at all. Like they say in Wag the Dog, why change horses in midstream?
