Cheater Terran, Sashin and the Ultimate Weapon (Shinmugi)
What did these dominant players achieve something the Legend Killer, Dreamer, Genius, God of War, Hero, Maestro, Revolutionist and even the Emperor couldn't achieve? 17 Straight wins on Proleague
These 3 players are the so-called 17-Hitters in Korea. During their peak they were nearly untouchable and unbreakable. oov, the first one to set this record tore everything apart until the God of War made him kneel. Anytime was later stopped at the same manner. While it was believed Flash would be the first to break the 2 legend's record was stopped by none other than the Devil's Apprentice BeSt.
With 1 retired, the other in the army and 1 FAILING HARD (WIN GOM OR U PHAIL), who will be the next to achieve or break the 17 PL record?
Note: I wrote a 5 page blog about this on MSword, I reviewed it right now and let me tell you it was the worst POS I've ever written. So I just shortened it like this

What's jaedong's longest win streak?

Very interesting! Hmm.. to be honest I only see Jaedong with the greatest potential to hit that record.

Flash needs to get his shit together. His rivalry with Jaedong for the best all-mu player made BW fun while it lasted.
The lil f**ker just got too arrogant when he was on top.

The lil f**ker just got too arrogant when he was on top. Yeah I wish flash gets back, JD vs Flash were ALWAYS fun to watch
Then I saw that PIECE OF SHIT game between Flash and JD recently
I really hope Flash picks his shit up because I really want this rivalry to stay longer
edit: And I don't think its an arrogance problem, he just started losing mad confidence. If you watch his games couple months ago and compare it to the ones these days, the current ones are Bland, boring, and weak. The old games he played his plays looked powerful, exciting and etc. I guess ever since Luxury and Forgg, and that 3:0 from JD he just started losing it.
|
No, he was arrogant. It was clearly mad arrogance in that BO5 he played vs Lomo.
Dude thinks he can do whatever and win. Well, you can't! Overconfidence = arrogance.

Overconfidence is an error in judgment. Arrogance is a character flaw. You can't tell which of the two Flash suffers from because you don't know the kid. And the series against Lomo was fucking great by the way.
Ehh... hopefully you were just being sarcastic.

whos got the longest loosing streak?
|
Flash did get cocky before. He just used the same build over and over again, didn't scout, and just rolled over his opponent. Then Best took advantage of his lack of scouting. And then everyone else did.
|
I think Flash will come back in time. I'm not a fan of him, but the kid is fucking nuts when he's on his game.

Me. or other people who haven't really made it. x_X.
Pusan and Anytime should both be remembered as players in proleague who were always clutch in ace matches.
Next in proleague? at 17 straight, it's almost as much luck as it is skill. Sure, you need to be a dominant player, but you also need to be able to fend off almost any cheese that comes your way. I'm thinking that Savior 2009 sounds like a good answer for this one xD

Honestly I think this is just a matter of luck. I mean, suppose that 10 players are all equally good during their prime, and all have an 80% chance to win any game. Even at 80%, 17 in a row is unlikely, so it's not unsurprising that only 3/10 would ever get 17 in a row.

Is there a hidden feature in TLPD that tells you which games were ace games or just something you knew because of whatever reason?
|
I thought Jaedong had like 12 or 13 PL wins in a row. Couldn't quite make it to 17. It's good to remember Anytime's greatness. He will be back soon and uplift the spirits of Ace.

While there is certainly some luck here, it's not unlikely at all that the three most dominant proleague players ever also get this winstreak.
And Flash's slump was at first caused by overuse in proleague, not overconfidence or whatever. He got this record because nearly every game it was Flash>someone in a regular match and then Flash>ace. Thus he went from someone who strategically planned and created a very nice style/builds to someone who was forced to (or simply succumbed to) using similar builds all the time because he couldn't prepare them uniquely anymore. He rode his mental superiority for awhile but when he fell he wasn't going to recover easily.
So far he still hasn't and I don't know when/if that will change. Now he just seems to be trying to ride his mechanics to the top, but Flash's mechanics never have and hopefully never will be the focal point of his success. Only Jaedong can really do this right now, and until Flash rediscovers his own strengths he's sadly going to stick to his current mediocre path.

I BELIEVE IN MY PROTOSS GOD!!!! He probably did, when I was looking through TLPD I didn't carry wins over from season to season, which I realize is a must if someone is going to hit 17.

Anyways, yeah I was suprised to first hear the 17 hitter thing until I saw some Esports news on MBCgame, where they were talking about how Anytime and oov first set the record and Flash was the first one in years to test it.

I don't think BeSt can do it. I'm a huge fan of his, but I don't think he can do it. I will be happy to be proven wrong, too.
|
Flash just puts off an aura of arrogance.
|
If SKT1 is smart enough to get best to match up against mainly Protoss, then BeSt has a good chance.
|
17 straight means that he has to 2-0 stuff like MSL and OSL groups, not to mention any Best of series that he has. Maybe at the beginning of next season but saying that he's going to 3-0 Stork and 3-0 Fantasy and win like 11 Proleague matches all in a row is kind of ridiculous. And don't forget, after Proleague match number, like, 5, people are going to start trying to snipe him. People already probably try to snipe him. He has a much better chance of getting 17-0 during the group stages of tournaments when there's a lot of bung games that are pretty much auto-wins.
Not to mention that BeSt is now under 50% PvZ. It makes me sad.
|
|
Rage has: 11 losing streak...but I`m sure there are other players with an even bigger losing streak. Flash, Boxer, oov, Nada, Yellow- they all have a 7 losing streak

Problem with players like Savior and Jaedong is that they will win like 10 games on proleague and lose the 11th one to some amateur. Really hoping a zerg can get the 17 mark

Best translation I can attempt. Didn't try to salvage any factual accuracy from it like how FlaSh is underperforming atm while Jaedoing is still stronger than ever and sAviOr just isn't relevant to anything.

Let me introduce you to something called punctuation marks, no, they won't hurt you. Please put them next time, ayt?
|
I am glad Anytime set a milestone. He is a Royal Roader too, but 17 straight wins in PL is just insane. It requires to have no weak match up (so I think BeSt will not achieve this) and have an amazing mental strength. Especially in Anytime's case, as quite a lot of these 17 must have been aces.
And WTF is that post, decker??? 9 lines without a single capital or punctuation, lots of abreviations and typos : I couldn't get past the second line. That kind of shit should be insta-ban.
