.. It will be easy to avoid playing people without the anti-hack launcher on. Even if they say they are on the launcher you will still know. From unk's post (he is ICCup admin):
player with launcher will have colored nickname in the game lobby.

So when you are getting a game going, you can see if your potential opponent is on the launcher or not. Simple really.

I'd say that this anti-hack feature will lead to gross abuse. The current system actually discourages it's usage.

Because people who don't use it will get less games --> more people will use the anti-hack.

voted optional, for reasons already stated in the thread.
Hope if it is implemented it works as it should.

The iccup admins need to have more patience. You did your work very well, but you must not start panicking to early. You know you made a good product, be confident about it.

why are so many people voting manditory? there is 0 rationale behind it besides the 'i want to play hack free', which you get anyway if you just insist on using the launcher. its kinda selfish to demand when there are other people who dont care and just want as many high quality games as possible.

Yes because that doesnt make sense at all.

I think the only way to get koreans to flock to the ladder in masse is the same way PGT did and ICCUP first did... big cash prize for an entire season -> tourney. Koreans whore towards that more than anyone (probably because their odds of winning are a LOT higher).

eh i think its a good idea. most people will play with it anyway because any foreigner who gets high ranked and refuses to use the anti hack will automatically be under massive suspicion. its a ladder, the sole purpose is for practice. if making the antihack optional in order to get koreans (the best practice) on the server at the cost of a few retards hacking in something where the results are meaningless, definetly do it.

ICCup has prizes. So yeah, we need an antihack, if koreans don't want it then don't play it.

like i said, antihack should be manditory in the tournaments (including ladder-end one) where results matter.
on a ladder they dont

i think it can be good and can be bad at the same time
like if alot of koreans who wont get the launcher now start playing, they may eventually realize that it's alot more beneficial to use the launcher and stop being so lazy
on the other hand it will make absolutely no difference in points in the ratio of ppl who use the launcher/ ppl who don't use the launcher is like 50/50 cause then everyone will just play everyone and the launcher will be useless
and of course there are hackers ect.. but most of the people who hack are newbs anyway, and the only real abuse here would be if someone who is like C- gamer without hack gets to like A with the hack, which I think would be obvious to tell

i agree with idra. and im glad that the poll here doesn't mean shit and won't make a difference. iccup is making a good move.
