Since the launch of repmastered.app 7 months ago, I've been gathering publicly available replays from all over the internet relentlessly. There are hundreds of thousands of replays already, recording games of hundreds of thousands of players on thousands of maps.

I'm "running out" of publicly available replays, so I need your help.

As of 2020 seeing the current state of StarCraft and its community I don't think there's any real reason left that would justify keeping your replays private anymore. I urge everyone to upload your replays at repmastered.app/upload.
You do not need to register to upload replays. You may upload replays anonymously, but if you login first, you'll be able to filter to your uploaded games only.

Why should you upload replays?
  • Your replays will not be lost accidentally. Basically this is a free backup for you.
  • Your replays will become searchable on the site: you can search by date, players, format, matchup, type, map, custom tags etc.
  • You get an in-browser replay analyzer for all of your replays, similar to BWChart that's accessible anywhere, anytime.
  • You get comprehensive statistics about your StarCraft history, much more than Blizzard will ever show you.
  • Your replays will help build statistics of all other players you played with or against.
  • Your replays will help build statistics of the maps you played, providing more accurate popularity and other statistics.

What kind of replays should be considered?
  • All replays are welcome. It doesn't matter if it was a tournament, ladder, UMS, team game or played locally (or on LAN).
  • It doesn't matter how old the replay is. Statistics desire replays from all ages.
  • It doesn't matter which version of StarCraft it was played with, all version are supported, back to the 1.08 version when replays were first introduced in 2001.

You should not worry about uploading duplicates, repmastered.app detects if a replay is already uploaded, and also detects if multiple replays of the same game are uploaded.

If you're an admin of a website and have replay packs stored on your server, please upload them. If you don't want to bother uploading, at least post a link to the pack here and I'll be glad to do it for you.

As with every service, they will only be lost on purpose once your service disappears without any warning. And with it the "free backup".

i have like 6/7 k replays somewhere from 2009-2016 but cannot find my hard drive; once i do will upload them to this thread

Edit: found like 10 replays that for some reason are on my computer; uploaded them, however i might have done it twice, it was so fast and there is no comfirmation of the replay being uploaded; basically it seems that it is working flawlessly, yet me as a user is uninformed of the procedings taking place; hope this helps

No, what I meant was that if you only store your replays on your hard drive for example and anything happens to them (e.g. accidental delete, hard disk failure, ransomware etc), your replays are lost. But if you upload them to repmastered.app and then you lose your replays from your hard drive, they will still be accessible on repmastered.app.

Thanks for the reps. There's no problem uploading twice, don't worry about that.

While replays are being uploaded, there's an "Uploading... please wait..." message displayed, and your browser should indicate "work-in-progress". When the upload is finished, the page is reloaded and the upload results are displayed on top of the page (e.g. how many replays were uploaded, how many failed etc.) and direct links to the games of the uploaded replays. I think it's pretty obvious. And yes, uploading 10 replays should be just 1-2 seconds.

Don't mean to come off as a conspiracy nut but why are you so interested in having a ton of noobie replays? Like, what benefit does it bring to your project? Is there an end-goal that I'm not seeing?

I have a couple thousand replays but I am afraid of uploading because then everyone will know my smurfs. Jk. The reality is that I like to look at them separately as opposed being part of one "career". Some names I only played random on, some names I only played drunk on, etc.

EDIT: A ton of my replays are already on there btw and I have to say the project is awesome, great work and thank you!

Here are a bunch of Replays from Battlereports.com

http://www.battlereports.com/viewreplays.php

It's got a mix of WC3, Strifeshadow, SC2 and all that but it's mostly BW going back... shit. Ages. You'll find some hidden gems in there too as some Koreans used it to dump replays of Pros. Even a bunch of USA WCG games too.

Here is the starting point if you don't want to back track and instead, start from the beginning.
http://www.battlereports.com/viewreplays.php?gametype=all&orderBy=&indexnum=5425

Shit. I found two awesome replays just casually browsing. Good memories here...

EG.Machine vs EG.G5
http://www.battlereports.com/viewreplays.php?replaynum=33419

Bisu vs Nada

So wait? I'm bad? =(

"Noobie" replays contribute to statistics. So we can get more accurate picture about players and the maps.

Accounts are not merged. So if you upload replays from multiple accounts, they will still be displayed separately. Statistics are gathered and displayed based on player name, not based on who uploaded the replay.

The uploader is not displayed, so uploading all your replays will not make it possible to tell your akas. A replay may be uploaded by multiple persons too so multiple users can have the same replay in their "My Uploads", but it will only be counted in statistics once.

Goal of repmastered.app is to represent the entire StarCraft community. The majority of the community isn't the top players, the share of progamers is well below 1%. If we would collect only replays with 300+ APM, that wouldn't represent the community. Yet if you look at the Battle.net game list, there are always games on money maps (maybe even half of the games).

Also the number of games and players' activity includes playing versus less-skilled players.Without those games statistics will not be accurate.

This is very cool! Haven't uploaded any of my replays yet but already found some 3v3 games from over 10 years ago that are on there.

edit: Just uploaded 3k replays. Unfortunately the ones from my original PC are lost I think.

Sure, mostly Jonoman92. SCC-Arcology in a few.

We also used to play a game we made up called Pentagon when we had 5 players and we'd use 5 player maps. Usually on Predators. Found one of those too (from my own upload batch.)

Will be at my parents house this weekend - There's a chance I have more replays there from old pc so we'll see!

I think you misunderstood what I meant.
What I'm saying is, that most online services disappear at some point. So if I lose my local replays in 2 years, and go to remastered.app to restore them, but the website doesn't exist anymore, then it's useless as a backup page. Relying on a 3rd party that can close the website at any point is always a risk and shouldn't be used as a reliable backup service.
I will stick to my external HDDs for my backups for that reason.

I see what you mean and I agree. At least it shouldn't be used as the only backup if replays are important to you. Having another free backup is never a bad thing though.

Thanks for the reps.

On the Games page (this is the home page) you can filter by Tags. It's a drop-down list, select ↑My Uploads if you're logged in, and then only your uploaded replays will be listed / searched.

Thanks it works! Is it possible to add the same "tag" feature when you search players? It would be nice to look and analyze all my smurf statistics quickly with a feature like that.

↑My Uploads is an automatic tag which gets added automatically when you upload replays while logged in. There are other tags as well, if you open a game analyzer, the top bar lists your tags, e.g. ❤Favorite, 👍GG, 👎BM etc. Clicking on them adds / removes the given tag to the given game.

If you go to the ⚙️Settings page, you can view and edit your tags, also create new tags. And on the Games page you can filter to any of these tags.

I just uploaded 1500 replays. I was log on but I dont see any My Uploads button. I’m not sure what are the benefits to log prior to upload. Thanks for you amazing job! player450 is now ranked #45 for games played

Oh I think I misunderstood you.

You can only tag games at the moment.

But you can go to the 👨Players page, enter all the names of your smurf accouts, separated with a comma. For example some of my akas are: Dakota_Fanning, Sienna_Miller, rackmort, turbost, Dakota[Fanning], Tankado_ganfin, Gninnaf_Atokad, Alexis.Bledel, SCIIGears, getingears, Dakota)Fanning, Dakota(Fanning, Dakota[Fanning

Press search, and then all these players will be listed, and no one else. You can copy / bookmark the URL which contains all the listed players.

For example if you click on this link, it will list the above listed players directly.

I know this is not the same as tagging players, but it's a cheap workaround.

Maybe you could reach out to Artosis. Back in the days he had a similar project with fighterreplays.com until the site suddenly ... disappeared. But maybe he has a backup of the site somewhere...

Pretty cool project. I like the idea overall and the stats are just fantastic! I'll probably contribute some reps once I go through some of them since I'd rather not upload thousands of reps. Also, seems like you have several of my reps which was interesting lol.

You can probably reach him in CM's discord. He's a member there. Send a discord pm or something. Alternatively, if you aren't on there, I can probably send a message on your behalf.

Be sure to tell him that the statistics found can be used to prove that Terran players are the best and all others are scum, especially kwark_uk :D

I certainly dont have all my replays from 3years in korea (some forever lost and some on my pc in korea) but I put in what I had which is mostly a mixture of stuff when I started playing, and some ones from times i came home (like the past month)... with a sprinkling of ones from here and there that I had on a usb drive.
I realize I have used way too many accounts though; stuff like ^-^, barcodes, random number/letter spam, and cadenzie/denzie with and without clan/team tags so I kinda gave up trying to chain them together like you suggested is possible. [sad crying cat emoji] would be nice to have everything joined together easily but I guess the technology isnt there yet.

Just uploaded a buncha reps...

Please note that Privacy Concerns have been raised about uploading replays.

Especially good players may not want to do it so they are not targeted by opposition research...

A Few solutions have been suggested:

Privacy as in Personal Upload - ONLY accessible by the uploader.

Privacy OPTION - an option to HIDE player names and REMOVE CHAT to avoid identification and any other info a replay may have of that nature...

And Third NO REPLAY DOWNLOAD... So just in site analysis...

Also some questions have been raised about the accuracy of the APM and EAPM system you are using.

I think it would be great to think and talk about those potential issues and solutions in order to allow more people to join the Hivemind! FOR THE SWARM! FOR THE HIVE!

Replay uploading is completely voluntarily. If you don't want to show a replay, don't upload it.

What good comes from hiding everything (players, chats etc) from a replay? Not much. I understand the motivation, but having a replay where you don't know who played who and thus cannot be included in statistics isn't valuable. Also if replay is downloadable, there's no point hiding anything from the replay, as after downloading it you can extract everything from it.

Public replays contribute to global stats and benefit everyone. I am willing to pay for the public good. Private replays benefit nobody but the replay owner. I do not wish to pay for the resources required for private replays.

What questions have been raised regarding APM / EAPM accuracy? Please clarify and I answer / explain.

Note that disabling replay download and hiding replay chat is possible, but I'm not sure if this is the right direction.

Isn't there a way to extract the relevant information without giving DL access publicly or showing the player names?

And I mean it as an option not automatic for all replays.

Of course if it's too much trouble or it costs additionally there's little value in adding such features.

I tried Brood War Dechat (Chat Remover) but it does not work for SCR replays sadly...

Scratch the APM/EAPM comment. I now understand that different creators set the parameters differently.

What would be an acceptable compromise?

Changes that do not disturb statistics:
  • Hide / disable chat.
  • Hide / disable replay download.

With this the question arirses: if the replay analyzer is enabled in the web interface, that gives almost just as detailed information as if you'd download the replay. The only important difference is that you can't watch the game in StarCraft.
