New edited topic, the answers starts from post#26 on.
LFM - that uses fingertip / ontouch style (see image 1 and 4 for original one and the style), - middle mouse button easily usable/pressable, - buttons easily usable anywhere you see the button, yes even up there:
FYI I edited some review on the second page post#33 - Razer Viper Mini still too wide! - At some point I will put a list of Mice here (I have accumulated a great list internally, but I wouldn't want to post a simple list without details, so for now I will only put a few updates there) Edit: - Abyssus Essential AKA jugan AKA "same shape as Abyssus original" has been adressed in the thread several times.
Image1: mouse in seek, the rubber keys are pressable anywhere very well and give a very good grip despite a very light fingertip-touch (s. image 4):

Different Design/handling but just as versatile, only 28 bucks. - Secret I found in the internet: Very good handling-Replacement for Microsoft IntelliMouse Optical OZONE GAMING OZNEON3K Image 6 A random approach, a versatile holding grip mouse, btw: buttons left and right!
![[image loading]](https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/51iRvasxfNL._AC_SL1500_.jpg) I personally had very good experience from Ozone gaming from another product, hence I stumbled over this recently. I summarize the review about the mouse: - after a very long time, the player found a perfect replacement for the Microsoft Intelli Optical Mouse (from what I heard it was very popular) - the only bad thing is it needs a software Quality ++ , solid, non-slippery surface, good durability Wheel and Buttons +++ , well pressable and good control for scrolling, 2 extra buttons left and right Driver + , needs software, but it is quite simple Handling +++ , "perfect". If you don't find this mouse for purchase, consider this from steelseries, similar shape, but $$: steelseries Sensei Ten
LIST (I have accumulated a great list internally, but I wouldn't want to post a simple list without details flooding the thread even more, so for now I will only put a few updates here that aren't adressed elsewhere) - Corsair, Harpoon - grip: sides (unergonomic for long sessions), relative narrow++, constant grip no matter at which length-position++, rubbered all sides++, result: seemed pretty solid and suprising for control got it recommended internally, test duraton: short

Hi, (RazEr yes i know)
please help:
- This is my go to mouse for starcraft, I tried some other - not so good.
- Either I want to order this mouse, for any price. But I can't find this yet. Should be possible right?! Right!? (you can also link me a shop via pm)
- Or recommend me a good replacement, that is SIMILAR. Not simply a razor product (I read often things that don't fit to this exact question), I don't care the brand, it has to be a quick light mouse that offers what the salmosa does. (Which is really good grip when you play crawl style, at least 2 dpi settings, very light, very good (very easy) clicking behavior with biggg buttons which allow to hold the mouse in any way. Better (if all else fits) would be to set any DPI (or distinct range)
(As you all know starcraft is a very fast game that requires alot alot of very fast and very precise movement everywhere, as well as soft-clicking - many mouses don't fit this role, seemingly being designed for Ego-shooters and Co)
Why is there no official replacement? Then just keep producing that mouse, I don't understand the world.
- I am also fine with the Asian Edition. (Tried both)
- I am also fine with a similar mouse that has less DPI. (1200 is fine).
- I am assuming you know the Salmosa - because it is a very specific mouse type (that I don't meet anywhere) , but FYI it has 800/1800 DPI.
Thank you.
P.s: I am also using a G9- but for very different game types, it has high quality, but it's heavy, and the grip is very wide and big. the holding position is like playing football (it's similar to the deathadder which I tried and that is very bad for starcraft when you reach fast playtstyle), while salmosa is playing soccer. just to give an example but i see logitech has a very high quality, (better than razor).
- g9 was actually my previous go-to mouse, but the middle mouse button is not practical, but very important in starcraft I think.. The salmosa has a perfect one. But actually it was it's new feel and speed while maintaining precision that convinced me. https://www.reddit.com/r/MouseReview/comments/a4q7up/logitech_g9g9x_weight_minimization_removed_tray/ anyways this is my previous mouse - you could set the DPI to ANY (in distinct steps of 200), mine is theoretically at 1200 (with standard windows speed of 6/11).
- Another advantage Salmosa: You can hold it ANY way you want. So I can actually scratch my head and the next second do a precision click on my minimap, or on a zergling... Imo it's a big advantage for longer play sessions (you should not have the same position for longer time). Hence I am looking for a SIMILAR mouse.
PPS: Any recommendation welcome, but maybe if you don't have experience with the Salmosa state it or why you recommend your mouse.

Logitech g203 - one of logitechs best to be honest (be aware that these mice wont last very long, one of the clickers went bad for me after a year or so of usage)

(It's weird to read that Logitech Mice wouldn't last long - that is a must for alot fast clicking , my Logitech mice has very good quality and still lasts until today.)
- My g9 ONLY doesn't work on the side buttons anymore.
Thanks I am currently looking... weight: 68 g sounds good. and size and claw-handling looks good. Do you have any experience with the buttons? Pressing behaviour? Quality? Longlastability?

I'm not sure... can you elaborate? can you do my mouse tests? see link in my signature. from my comparisons: Hmm, salmosa: 52 grams (excluding cable), abyssus: 109 g sounds a bit more (and comparisons).

I'm getting it fixed though with my new soldering kit and new switches on the way. That said, I still vouch for the mouse. Only like $28+ and it has a warranty.

Thank you. I studied it, it has side buttons. I noticed from other mouse tests, that I would accidentally push those in fast play (well I could unbind them - so no the biggest of deals). I guess my question is rather how do you hold the mouse? I can hold the Salmosa anywhere and anyhow (with claw grip) I want, which is very useful for longer sessions (if I choose to do so). The side buttons simply look misplaced from my claw-experience. How do you use the soldering kits? I checked my mouse(s) and I don't see a way to replace stuff without breaking them?

Here's the guide I watched:
www.youtube.com
Pretty basic and not intimidating. I even saw a really rough solder job do the trick. You will have to get a soldering kit, the right switches for your mouse, and, preferably, a desolder pump.
Here's a guide to what switches each mouse uses: https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=81743.0
g203 (along with most other popular mice according to the guide above) uses D2FC-F-7N switches.
Admittedly it's a lot of hassle compared to just ordering another mouse online but for me it's a worthy investment.

Yeah. I will order like 3 of them when corona-situation settles. That shape is godlike. I used to use the LMO back in the day but had to switch since my hand would make it spin out. Never held anything that comfortable, maybe wmo is close but still LMO is the best shape ever for my hands.

my mouse history includes: Logitech Mini Optical Razer Salmosa Razer Deathadder 2013 Logitech G303 Daedalus Apex
I'm currently using a Logitech G305. Even though it's wireless, there is no latency. The feel took a little getting used to but now it's great for me.

I use the Roccat Lua. Simple 3 button light weighted mouse with a quick DPI switch. Not the best sensor especially by today's standard. Good built quality... My Razer Krait didn't last that long....
For razer I think they have just realised the Viper Mini series - size wise seems quite close to the Salmosa? This is fairly new so may not have too many reviews yet.
Have also got a Razer Salmosa (Asian edition) but found that it was too small.

After more looking into it and also loooking at the other suggestions, it seems you meant the g pro. The g pro has the better more reliable optical sensor (g pro 3366) (the g203 uses a third party sensor), they look the same and have the same handling afaik, but I found alot of pro gamers use the g pro (instead of the g203).
Anyways, wanted to ask: What's the middle button like? Can you use it well? Do you use it alot? For instanec I prefer dragging over "sweeping" for like curve-macro and micro: siege lines or similar, where as the sweep gives a quick and stable mouse position correction to your screen view, both are good and used, point is dragging is used and important to me...

did some more searching,
what about: Zowie EC2-B, is this suit for starcraft? I found it in a starcraft reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/starcraft/comments/8hdqac/what_mouse_do_you_use_for_scr_or_sc2_does_it_have/ via a search engine. - i just wonder why their gear costs 80 bucks? I don't need anything fancy, just three buttons and ergonomic lightweight clawgrip, the kmini3 looked good for 25 bucks.
- what about this: https://www.corsair.com/ww/en/Categories/Products/Gaming-Mice/FPS-Fast-Action-Mice/HARPOON-RGB-PRO-FPS-MOBA-Gaming-Mouse/p/CH-9301111-AP lightweight (80g), looks a bit like aby, plugin&play good price about 30 bucks
On May 11 2020 10:21 GGzerG wrote: Abyssus is amazing and designed for RTS.
- i don't find an abyssus that has plug&play anymore (the earliest versions have a mechanical DPI switch, now it's gone, there is no way, and there is no onboard-memory for your dpi setting), so it's a total no-go (default dpi is 7200 and it will only go below that if you install their software, which obviously is a total no-go if you want to use the mouse on one of 100 things I could tell you like using it on a old laptop or a pc that is not yours... (no software installment there, no need to write an article about when I don't even know who reads my messages here), i spend quite some hours with testing and reading this mouse now, and it's out of my choice, no discussion.

Abyssus is plug and play....if you need you can download the Abyssus user interface to change the settings even further, it isn't that hard to find online, I have used it for quite some time. Also Logitech G203 Prodigy is good too, simple.

My SCBW gaming mouse history & recommendations (small sized mice):
- Logitech B58 - good(4/5) - outdated 400 dpi. there seems to be a re-brand called RX 250 nowdays with more dpi. - Logitech Mini Optical - excellent(5/5) - outdated 400 dpi - Razer Abyssus V1 - mediocre(3/5) - uncomfortable, not as precise, felt too large - Zowie/Monoprice Mico - excellent(5/5) - impossible to find - Cooler Master Xornet II - mediocre(3/5) - very comfortable, good size, but felt a bit heavy-ish and not as precise - Roccat Lua - mediocre(3/5) - felt not as precise and not as comfortable - Logitech G102/G203 - good(4/5) - using now. comfortable, good weight, good precision, could've been smaller (same size as B58).
As recommended by Cadenzie, will try to get fkmini3 which seems like a modern Logitech Mini Optical. Saw JD using it.

(I investigated on all of them...) Someone top said, LG G203 wouldn't have good durability.
