I wonder why too. The Korean article says they secretly revealed some details to insiders during Blizzcon 2016, but wouldn't it have been much better if they made this gigantic announcement during it?

Yep. I kinda want to be excited for this, but B.net 2.0 singlehandedly destroyed all the enjoyment I got out of SC2, and I can't imagine it wouldn't do the same for BW:HD.

Keep the gameplay unchanged for multiplayer. But I wish they add at least some of the modernized control features for the campaign.

Might be better to announce in Korea where they have an obviously bigger fanbase.

They also might want to not take away from sc2's stage too.

BW is already #5 in Korea w/o _any_ Blizz support!!

Only a few marketing $$ for SC:Remastered / BW:HD / etc and StarCraft will get that ~ 5% it needs to become #3.

Then, who knows...

Amazing news!

It's been years that I have not checked TL, just gave it a shot and BAM
I hope they keep graphics 2D with High-Res resolution. I believe this is key to recreate a genuine BW experience..

PS: Ok, I'll take 3D too if they can somehow keep the gameplay and controls the same.

Good to see that gameplay won't be changed (or so the report claims). Hesitant but excited >_<;

(inb4 the HD sprites don't keep the gritty feel of the originals)
