Actually I recall you and I had some debate about the efficacy of a late game muta switch last spring in this very same thread. It seemed to me the surprise muta force really caught Flash off guard this game, forcing him to make goliaths which were then destroyed by ultraling. I am looking forward for JD in ASL. I am starting to get quite optimistic about his chances now. Earlier this summer he was just banging his head against 5 rax timing hits to deny his third. | ||

Sending drones that have just returned cargo to a closer mineral patch than from where it came because the current drone mining from there is almost done mining? Or using the return cargo button to make them return faster? (not sure but I think I've heard from the latter) | ||

In some scenarios it is better to plague than to swarm, but getting that +50 max energy on defiler upgrade is really crucial because you can cast plague and swarm off at the same time. Imagine, you can plague a group of like 20 marines, off a 5rax build that is 4 rounds of marine production just down the toilet and it saps medic energy. It's strong against mech too but it is more difficult to pull off because of mines not letting defilers walk around freely or sieged tanks sniping them off before they can cast a spell. In general though Terrans try to spread out their tanks and form a line too, so that mitigates plague's effectiveness. And what exactly is that mineral gathering trick you guys are talking about? I will have to check the video again. | ||

It's crazy powerful. My worst moments in TvZ are when the zerg plagues my marines then dark swarms and follows this all up with mass cracklings. Losing so many marines for so long is rough lol. | ||

That and it's possible to manually juggle your workers so they always take the most efficient paths to the nearest mineral patches. It does make a provable difference. It's small, but when you have a bunch of spare APM in the early game you might as well put it to actual use instead of spamming. Especially when you're trying to edge out minute advantages as the top level. There's literally no downside to doing it as your APM is not needed elsewhere that early. | ||
