Yeah it's ridiculously short, like 90 days, isn't it?

Apply for closed BETA and make sure to place a shitty system and have a lot of problems. Then wait for the invite.

It's safe, but you should still wait, because I'm pretty sure all functionality doesn't work atm. Tec should be up in a couple of hours and fix it.

So I played some games yesterday, really liking Shield Battery as an alternate UI/server. There should be a place (a la github issues, or a jira, or even trello) where we can put up feature requests, bugs, etc. If there is, I'd love to have a link to it. If you want I can set a Trello up for you so we can have voting on issues and stuff.
Bugs: 1. It's happened a few times that the sc path is not found. I have had to change the path by appending a "/" at the end of the sc path string or removing it when this happens. Not sure if this was fixed with latest verison though, have to test more thoroughly
Feature Requests: 1. Ability to click a user on the chat list to open whisper box (this or override browser's right click when clicking a user to select whisper). 2. Create and invite players directly to game. I would like this to be more similar to sc2 in a way, where I could create a private game and send direct invites, as opposed to people joining the match. 3. Autosave replays from shield battery games (copy LastReplay.rep from the last game into YYYMMDDHHMM format on a ShieldBattery subfolder) 4. Open replays from shield battery. I feel like since ShieldBattery is enabling me to just open the game from the browser, it should also enable me to open the game with a replay from the browser 5. List recent games/replays. Just list the files on /replays/ or /replays/ShieldBattery. 6. Remember last map selection. I played a series of games yesterday, and after a game we decided to rematch. When I created, I had to re-select both the map as well as the game name. Would be very handy to have these remembered (localstorage maybe, so it's always remembered even when you close browser and come back). 7. God knows how much I want ranked. I know it's in your plans, but this is one of the things that always has kept me coming for more on iccup, or sc2. Having a rank is a very powerful 'bragging rights' tool, as well as a clear indicator to your progress.

That bug was fixed in the latest version andi. And yes, there is a github repo where all that stuff will be possible after we move to the open beta. For now, just use the Feedback form on the site to report any bugs / suggest features.
Also, all of those features are already on our TODO list, it just takes time to actually implement them

I feel bad for not playing on shieldbattery yet but it would mess with my practice on iCCup. I can't seem to find identical mouse settings for iCCup and Shieldbattery and whereas my screen is stretched to fit my monitor on iCCup it's actually a perfect 640*480 on Shieldbattery, again adding an awkward dissimilarity between both which would be hard to get accustomed to.
(Forgive me if I don't use the correct terminology, I hope it's understandable).

That wasn't really automated, though, iirc? You still had to create the game manually and have the other person join your game. I know I didn't use it much after being invited to the beta because it didn't really have much of an incentive back then where you could very easily get games in like Op ToT) or with friends.

(Forgive me if I don't use the correct terminology, I hope it's understandable). In SB, in the settings, if you are playing fullscreen then set your mouse to max and turn off "maintain aspect ratio."
Although, you should probably get accustomed to playing regular 640x480 at some point. By far superior to that ridiculous wide screen experience.

If you are playing on the "stretched" 16:9 aspect ratio, switching to 4:3 will not only look weird, but your mouse movements will feel wrong because your cursor travels less horizontal distance on the monitor screen after switching to 4:3. So your hand muscle movements are not changing, and the cursor still moves the same amount of pixels, but the stretched display made it appear to travel more distance horizontally. This illusion will make you think the mouse sensitivity is wrong, but it's really your brain unable to connect your hand movement to new cursor movement.
It takes some time getting used to going back to 4:3, but give it 1 week and you will never want to play in the stretched mode again. Proper aspect ratio really makes a big difference after you allow yourself to readjust to it. Have you ever rotated or flipped your display and tried to move the mouse? It feels insane and is really weird, but if you gave it some time, you could definitely get used to it.
