I was watching a FPVod of Nada playing, and in the beginning when many players tend to spam, he was spamming too but on this one part he decided to I guess "test" his accuracy, by moving his mouse down to the bottom of the screen, then immediately moving it and selecting a worker mining accuractely, and he kept doing that for a bi (EXTREMELY fast)
personally, I'm pretty slow i guess when i wanna be accurate, and sometimes when i play, it takes a while to hotkey things correctly (especially when units are small like MnM) because i end up having to click the units a few times to actually get it selected, or because i click the wrong unit T_T;;
this is now even more apparent because I just got the HaBu, and it feels so different than my old mouse
does accuracy just come with lotta gaming? are there any kind of games that would really improve this accuracy?
i want to be able to move the mouse around across screen really fast and accurately > ___<;; and it seems like it's a lot more harder for me to accurately select units when they're moving @_@;; has any of you got to a point where you can select units REALLY fast and really accurately? even if they're moving?

Do Korean gamers still use KTEC?
I hear they are really quite nice.
There are accuracy-specific games, but I think more starcraft gaming will improve your accuracy by just as much as doing some accuracy exercises.
The logitech op mini is really a nice mouse, my hand is a bit big for it though T-T

I never had very good mouse accuracy. I think you have to really lower the speed at which your cursor moves across the screen ie make it so that you have to move your mouse more for the same distance moved by your cursor on the screen. You can do this by messing with the dpi/cursor speed whatever but if you lower it then its much easier to click on things accurately. Only downside is having to move your mouse alot more and someitmes you may need to do a "retake" of your mouse once you run out of mouse travelling space.

when i spam in the beginning of the game or watch the begginning of replays i click the worker production building and then a mineral field and then back again, or the workers, or between the building and the workers. i think i'm pretty accurate and stuff considering my level of skill in most other areas (low). my mouse sensativity isn't super high though and i only use some general purpose laser mouse with microsoft written on it. i think muta micro ums help alot. as does the spamming. when spamming being sure to click in all directions, like diaganol and vertical and horizontal, and picking smaller units is good.

Well, there are several good programs that somewhat improve fastclick, the most notable being:
Piegates, a very simple game that values speed over precision. Going over 200 points (or 100 pies =)) is nearly required to play SC, going over 250 makes you really good.
Reflex and Reflex 2 on http://www.missionred.com - those should be your primary ones, I personally prefer reflex. It's good cause it punishes imprecision greatly and is extremely fast-paced on high levels. Also, you have to keep track on multiple target's growth/dissolving, like 10 targets at once at high levels, so this greatly improves not only the hand- but the eye-effectiveness of micro. Like you'll be able to keep track on multiple units at once. Should aim at about 400.000 score in the end, most likely you won't finish the game with a lesser score, but finishing the game alone is a challenging task. Values over 300.000 leave room for improvement, but you could probably do some gosu-style micro with that.
As for Reflex 2, it's more of entertainment than real improvement, nevertheless, still quite fun and useful for hand-coordination after, say, level 7. The only real improvement over Reflex are moving targets, the small ones are quite hard to hit =)
And last, but not least, ClickMeR. Designed specifically to improve handspeed for SC and WC3 players, it follows the same principles as Reflex, although all targets are moving and change movement direction. Moreover, there's a mode that offers different-coloured targets for left- and right- clicks and the most complete mode has letters appearing in the bottom of the screen for you to hit on your keyboard. It also shows your APM in the process, and this is all UAPM, so no spamming bullshit =)
NOTE: most of the links here are to a very slow russian site so it could lag abit before the dl starts.

rA and his magical ball mouse <3

I saw Stork cleaning out his ball mouse in a proleague match in early 2005.

Its unbelievable to me that some of them still use ball mice: [
Maybe I just have painful memories of them always being dirty and slow/inaccurate. But it seems to me the latest(And last couple) generations of optical mice are so superior. Even at the pro level only so much technique comes from your mouse skill, you should be able to switch with only a day or two of physical re-learning. I guess you just need the will to though. "If it aint broke..."

Crap... I just bought a G5 and the report says it's crap? I guess I'll have to return it for a MX518 =(.

Yea, I'd say it mostly comes with a lot of practice. But things such as a good mouse, pad, right chair/desk level, motor coordination, and more come into play.
BTW how do you like you habu compared to what you had last (which was?), I'm thinking about getting one.
lol at pie gates, i got 195 or so first time. 245 or so 2nd.

That clickmer game is pretty fun.

It REALLY depends of the ppl. I can tell you for sure that the mini logitech optical sucks ball compared to mx510. But that's just me. I've both those mouse and others too. I had the opportunity to test them all and so far the mx revolution seems to be REALLY good since it has a nice shape and your hand doesn't feel awkward while fitting it (maybe it's because i was used to mx500, 510 dunno). g3 is good but the butons kinda fragile. Not recommended for players who hit hard like the progamers usually do. g5 is horrible. I prefer a bazillion time the mx510's shape. It feels more comfortable than this "dusty" mouse. More dpi ? com'on you don't need that unless you really do love playing with very very high sensitivity and not be able to aim correctly.
I've played the mini and i couldn't get as much accuracy as my mx510 so it really depends of the ppl and no i don't have big hands. Actually my hands are just below average i think.

Hi. I saw people reporting their mouse accuracy in another thread. How can I a measure and determine my mouse accuracy in Brood War? Thanks in advance.
|
Well actually this problem sounds familiar to me. A couple of months back, I was on the same run to find a thing that really can help me with the accuracy to hit the target in gaming and I found something called Mouse accuracy test. It is basically an aim practice game for gamers to increase clicking speed at a particular point.
You can check out the Mouse accuracy test here >> https://www.clickspeedtester.com/mouse-accuracy-test
I really hope this would definitely solve your problem and yeah do let me know your ways to get better at mouse accuracy.

The first post on both accounts and bumping 14 years old thread disguise you rather badly but I really appreciate the effort for waiting 3 weeks before 'final strike' post.
