It's possible we'll get it done sooner but my experience with this kind of project makes me think it'll be at least 6 months. We will probably release progress reports for major updates, but that will mean a month or two until the first update xD

In a constantly changing world stagnation is already regression, and that seem to be just the state of the BW community right now. May you still fail? Sure, but failure is still a worthwhile experience that you can learn from, never even trying is not. Just do your best, and if you are dedicated and have something good going you will eventually find support for it. Just don't expect immediate perfection, that tends to be a long and bumpy road. I really hope for this to brings some fresh wind to BW.

You need more people helping on this project than what you have, in 6 months time, there is no telling what can happen, and in 6 months time people might not even be interested anymore, especially if you wait 1-2 months to release a first update.....like i said before this needs to be a community project or at least more people working on this then what is, there is people offering to throw you a lot of money to get a top notch programmers, why wouldn't you want this? Please don't just not accept help just because you are trying to recieve ALL of the credit for this project, don't do this for self endulging reasons like EywaSC, please lets get this finished together, I would really hate to see another failure that boasted itself to be the next savior.

I don't like this post of yours at all. If you are a developer you might understand what I mean.

I disagree with several of your points here. First of all "daily updates" -- this is an unrealistic and unfair expectation. Same with weekly updates. The amount of time that would require would likely mean an extra year before the project actually gets finished. Second of all, that they should need more people helping on the project. Internet based software development is hell. Everyone already has a full time job and live in different time zones. It doesn't take more than 3 people to make organizing a meeting damn near impossible. Adding people for the sake of having more people on the project is not a good idea. Every new person that is brought on the developing team makes communication so much harder. Thirdly, why they wouldn't want "top notch programmers" on this. See above, and add to this the hassle of managing contracts and funds, when in reality this could've accomplished without hiring help from the outside. Fourthly, the accusation that Birdie is doing this simply to get credit for the work. That is an extremely serious and offensive accusation that you're throwing out there. EDIT: However, releasing the source code isn't an entirely bad idea, in my opinion.
