Running Broodwar in Window Mode

Hello All,

I have been trying desperately to cast for the DRIT, but for the love of me I cannot get my BW to run in window mode. I tried selecting "Window Mode" on my ICCup launcher, typing "-window" at the end of the "Target:" Line on my properties and running chaoslauncher in window mode. I really want to cast replays in window mode, but I am running out of options. Does anybody have any reccomendations?? Also, if it helps, I keep getting the message "RT Error" as the reason why Window Mode won't run.

Would love to know as well. Also tried all the ways you listed but didn't work for me either.

I have the same problem everytime I start. My method to deal with it : iccup laucher, tick window mode, laune starcraft, get RT error, ctrl+alt+supr, kill launcher.exe, restart it and launch starcraft. I have never had any problem on the second try.
Hope it works for you, but if someone has a better solution...

Try changing the resolution of the computer sometimes. You can also use Chaos Launher tends to bypass this issue. And besides you would want to use chaos launcher in order for the viewer to determine the in game time and the APM of both players

That should fix your windowed issue. Now, here are your options casting.

Offline recording: FRAPS ---> High Quality records in full screen; I'd suggest you buy it, need powerful comp to run it, 7 minutes are 30FPS is about 4gB file so you need a lot of hardrive space, video editor to compress the video file

Camtasia ---> Slow FPS rate, requires windowed mode just a worser version of FRAPS. FRAPS was designed for recording gaming.

Hypercam ---> No experience using it. However, requires windowed mode, slow fps rate, desyncs audio, needs video editor to resynch the audio **which is a pain in the ass

**NOTE: If you use offline methods DO NOT USE free software as they do not work. I have tried hundreds of free programs and they never work. The ones that only work are the ones that require you to pay after you made over 30 seconds of video soooo...

OnlIne Recording:

xSplit ---> Great, demanding software. Heavy advise to get the premium subscription. Helps with crisper audio levels and such. Also allowed me to stream over Wi-Fi. For whatever reason before I got a subscription it would always time out my stream every 1 to 10 minutes and made like 50 parts after a two hour session but now it only lags once if that.

Flash Encoder... something I forget what the program is called. Something flash encoder. It is free but not as versitile as xSplit.

This totally worked! Epic. Now I dont have to stop casting when I go back to school.
