See, I'm new to reddit although I've been linked to it and known about it for just about ever, thus I just learned that /r/broodwar existed. It will definitely be a new place to post. By streams I meant when a top foreigner or amazing player is streaming, or local team events like KOTH's that provide a lot of depth and exposure for top teams that consist of structure. Also, I understand that some people auto-upvote BW content, but never see it because it's sitting on the the third page with 6-8 upvotes. The effort here is not only to come together as a community, but to encourage the silent viewers to act on the causes they so valiantly support privately. I honestly like to think of r/starcraft as the place where all the users banned from Teamliquid go to or something, how else can you explain the atrocious quality of content there? I know it's a generalization and there are plenty of good apples but it's not worth the trouble imo when you've already got this site.

You should definitely stick with /r/broodwar if that's what you prefer but maybe we could all glance at /r/starcraft every so often to upvote brood war events and give them exposure, which I believe is the point of the OP.

But a lot more people read /r/starcraft. Upvoting content on /r/starcraft increases awareness of BW in the general Starcraft community, especially among SC2 fans. Staying in /r/broodwar does nothing to increase BW awareness. And perhaps image macros are a lot more useful than one might expect. Yesterday, the image macros of that hand-raising Flash meme was all the rage. Today, there is a well-upvoted and well-commented post asking for old BW vods of Flash games after all that hype about Flash playing SC2. And if BW is as good of a game as you think, then it should easily be able to attract open-minded SC2 fans skimming through the subreddit. Of course, there will be trolls and anti-BW folks, but their opinions can be downvoted if you don't want to waste your time arguing against them. I have friends who browse /r/starcraft waaaaaay more than Teamliquid, and I have some that only browse /r/starcraft exclusively for their Starcraft content. It's a general Starcrat subreddit dedicated to all things Starcraft, unlike Teamliquid which has an obsession with keeping threads and content neatly segregated into their proper places. I, for one, would love to see more BW content in /r/starcraft. The curious would become the new fans that the scene so badly needs, and the ignorant trolls would be downvoted into oblivion.

Overall reddit is good for exposure but the kind of people you get exposed to leak over to teamliquid and lower the overall quality of the SC2 and general forums.(Especially lr threads)

Even as I'm a person that doesn't ever use reddit for any reason, I will be willing to create an account for reddit and upvote broodwar events.

Reddit has a lot of great niche communities but /r/starcraft is far from one of them.
