At the end of the day, no one actually liked Flash, the human being. Not in the same way SC2 fans like, say, MarineKing or Naniwa. They liked him because he was really good at BW. Full stop. Now that he's not playing BW, nothing about him is interesting excpet the possibility that he'll be really good at SC2, which obviously isn't appealing to people who don't care about SC2. The only BW player I ever liked for non-BW reasons is Hyuk, because he was a joke for so long and then all-killed STX and made Cholera a fan.
I don't care about Jaedong's personal struggle, and neither does anyone else. I think that's maybe part of the reason BW failed (oh wow, past tense T_T), but it was what it was
The last BW player I felt attached to as a person was Nal_Ra. I enjoy the hell out of watching Flash/Jaedong/Bisu and many other's play, but I never really got behind them as a person.

They implied the OSL may live on past the current one, but for how long, who knows. OS2L starts in July, and will have an English stream (so, if there's an OSL past this one, that might also have an official English stream?)

Nope, not true.

huh?
Have you ever seen anyone go "Wow, I sure am interested in Flash's personal life!"? Or "Man, I really want to see this grudge match between Bisu and Hydra. Those guys fucking hate each other!" No. Doesn't happen in BW. All about the game itself, here, particularly with TLBS (exceptions are guys like Firebathero, but "Watch Firebathero play SC2!" is not a draw for anyone).

Actually to be honest I only cared about ceremony back than and still do .
Not to mention the Gem League and Defiler Tour, which are fairly often, or the smaller tournaments to help flesh out the scene a bit. (Shameless self-promotion: I'm sponsoring two separate BW tournaments after ISL)
Do you really think any of that compares to when the foreign scene had the Razer TSL or if any of those tourneys will ever fill the holes left by proleague or OSL/MSL? I loved stadiums holding thousands of screaming fans. We have nigh but a shadow of our former scene, and its just deteriorating.
For what? Everyone in ICCUP who liked SC2 already switched and formed ESV, and it's not like ICCUP can become an SC2 server. ICCUP will be BW until it shuts down.
It has already come up before since clan league is dying off faster than ever and its harder and harder to keep a dedicated staff.

Wait, people are interested in Korean SC2 players' personal lives? (And if they are, how do they learn about these personal lives?)
And hmm, apparently you haven't seen any emotional rivalries? Savior vs Bisu, Savior vs FBH, Much vs FBH come to mind immediately. I guess the 'hatred' often involves FBH, because in Asian cultures, you really aren't encouraged to be incredibly BM all the time. Most 'grudges' in SC2 involve foreigners, since Western cultures don't have this sort of inhibition (or have it to a much lesser degree.)
But if you look at responses to interviews and the like, you'll find that many BW fans actually care about the players they like.
Especially Jaedong (this and this come to mind; I can't believe you mentioned Jaedong under the list of 'players people don't actually care about'....)

So let me get this straight. Because you personally don't like Flash, the guy, that means nobody else does. Because you personally don't care about Jaedong's personal struggles, it means nobody else did.

How long have you been around?
I became a Flash fan precisely because I saw him rise as the new Terran hope in the post-Savior era, then his struggles in the Child Labor Terran days, until he finally evolved into the Ultimate Weapon.
For a long time, Flash fans saw a little kid get overworked so much that he would break down during individual leagues. That is why his second OSL win was so significant.
I started watching BW not long before Flash debuted, so Flash's career has been the storyline that kept me watching BW.

Letting BW go is going to be one of the hardest things I have ever done. That is really the sad truth. It feels like I am saying this over and over every time I log in to this forum now. It is not very productive, but seriously all I feel when I get here nowdays is pain and disappointment. I don't know what else to say.

Have you even read any of the translated interviews and other content we get in the BW forums?
The BW interviews gave a life to the players behind the scenes. We could read about Bisu's disappointment in another failed individual league run. Fantasy's hunger to prove that he's not simply oov's puppet and that he can succeed even without his teacher. Even the simple things like winners' interviews after every PL match or that rookie looking to do a royal road run in the OSL gave life to some of the lesser known players on the teams.

Whatever happened to playing the game because it was FUN? Play the game you enjoy more.
