Will probably watch some Dota2, though it's probably more accessible via gg net.

il be sad when bw pro-s change to sc2, anyways it will be sort of interesting to see how they will do after the switch. Flash already betrayed all fans of the game in wich he is the best ever http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=332309 helping the corporate manipulation and killing broodwar.
I love this game. I play it from 11-12 years and i think to continue, for me there is no need of pro scene to enjoy the game, the atmosphere and experience when playing is the thing that inspires me most. Way to improvement should be ambition alone. If you left broodwar because of the pro-s switching you are not true fan i can tell. My plans aside from playing are to watch past tournaments(since i follow proscene last 3 years) and foreign tournaments, learn more about the game, there are lots of information that i dont know and be active part of the community.
The important thing is that Broodwar cant die if we are here talking about it and playing it, we can have tournaments, music, stories, art and everything related to the game since Broodwar is in our hearts, so be active!

In stark contrast is the BW community where asking a noob question is grounds for ridicule. To some extent you guys are your own worst enemies, part of the reason BW never caught on outside of Korea. Get off your high horses please, it doesn't make anyone sympathetic towards your cause.

What the fuck are you talking about?
You probably got kicked out of the games because people think you are smurfing, not because you are a noob.

It's fine, you apologized, and we understand. People get kicked from streams because there have been far too many SC2 trolls on BW streams cussing away at BW players. Sometimes, I've seen SC2 players come to stream and ask this and that like 'what is a vulture?' and immediately looked upon as a troll. They may not be a troll but it is not the right place to ask questions. We always have TL forum to ask questions where it is met with kindness and quick thought out answers.
Getting started in ICCup is hard, but i can't imagine getting kicked because you are at 1000 points. I never had a problem with my smurf accounts..
|
I was kicked from 5 in a row instantly for being 0-0-0. ICCup doesn't use these numbers, that's the regular b.net. People on ICCup are friendlier.

I'm all the sudden reminded of that chart of how TL, gg.net, and battle net see each other and themselves. Wish I can find it.
o.q all the way.

Alright, fair enough. You should play on unofficial servers, though, as it sounds like you just played on battle.net. The only thing B.net is good for is fastest and UMS games.

After BW switches over im probably going to stop fallowing sc at all unless they fix sc2 in the expansions... Probably going to stop paying too much attention to this site to which is really sad cause ive learned to love this place, but it wont be the same with out what made it great.

I will never leave TL completely but after BW is gone I'm gonna watch only Dota 2 and just follow results of major SC2 tours.
I've been enjoying watching Dota 2 lately and I havent played Dota for 5 years but its still entertaining.
|
i will never leave my home
|
I had not followed bw since maybe 06 or so and came back to tl with the release of sc2 and I only followed sc2 since then. But I started following bw again maybe half a year ago, and I must say it is much more awesome to watch then sc2, I will definitely miss it, but I will continue following sc2.

There's no such thing as "post-Brood War" to me. I mean yeah, much as I hate the fact that it's happening, Brood War looks pretty done in Korea as far as professional leagues. And I was really hanging on with my fingernails hoping that they would continue. Anyway, I'm not going to follow Korean SC2. I'm going to follow any amatuer/foreigner tours that happen, and keep playing BW til all the ladder servers shut down, because as far as I'm concerned (I'm not saying you should share my opinion), SC2 is absolutely not worth my time. Maybe it will be in the future if it is totally redesigned, but I'm not holding my breath on that.

Will stay for the community.
A DotA2 Power rank would be pretty nice, many friends are starting to get interested in both the game and the competitive scene, but there are too many matches to watch all of them. A PR could let them know easily what matches will be close and competitive.

Do i count for BW if i only played UMS like a pro?

Didn't read the thread but I'll stick with BW. The Proscene missing will hurt a lot but there's still the foreign scene with very strong players (at least from my newbie perspective) I can look up to and be astonished. Also ex- and semi-pros / gosu koreans streaming like Hiya. Still tons of BW stuff out there.

It's a sad state of affairs when corporations feel the need to forcefully destroy a successive product so that it doesn't compete with their new, inferior offering.
