in some options there is no 2v2, which is a fundamental part of a NW...

I think you should definitely have a 2v2, which was included in all of the past NWs.

Winners league format is cool but it takes a lot of time. i prefer the old school proleague style. just an opinion tho and i hope the matches will be streamed and casted! gogo nation wars!

i think winners league in a NW is the best for entretaining. makes it more dramatic.
while old PL style, is easier to organize and demands less time.

but the old PL style at least let 8 players play every match compared to the minimum of 5 players in WL.
for example in 4-0 situations in a bo7 format.

a > b
c > d
e > f
g > h

compared to WL

a > b

considering 'a' is a very good player.

bo7 WL requires only 4 per team, proleague format requires 6 (6 1v1s and an ace match). I guess if people complain a lot about 2v2 then you could have your ace game DECIDED by 2v2. As previously mentioned WL format is much more interesting as an all kill or reverse all kill could be possibilities.
I don't need luck, luck is for noobs, good luck to you though

For the 7 bo1 you need at least 6 1v1 players for each clanwar online. Knowing that not everybody can show up each time, you need at least 10 active 1v1 players with a decent enouf level for the wars to assure that you will not have to give any WO. This will exclude ALOT of countries. Some might be active enouf, but it won't be many. You could say to merge it up, but I think the lesser merges are needed the better, it should remain nationwars as much as possible in my view. As an extra this format also excludes 2v2, which would be a shame considering this is a very active part of BW.

Then winnersleague format would not be a way to determine which is the strongest country, which is what we are aiming for I think. This would be the way to determine which country has the strongest player. All good ofcourse, but I think individual tournaments are a better method to determine that order. In nationwars it should be the country with the best average skill to come out on top, promote a deep lineup. Winnersleague format is not the correct way to determine that. 2v2 is not included in this format as well. Also both of these formats would include that you need to keep your players online for a long timeperiod without them being able to play. It will be pretty hard for the leaders to make sure that all stay online for the entire period.

Even though the normal CL format is used so often, I think it still is the best format to use for the nationwars. You need to show some dept in your team, but it still is a number of players that a lot of countries will be able to reach. It includes 2v2 and is all you need in my opinion.

Winners League format would be absolutely horrible for this league as the skill level between players is too high. I assume there will be countries who doesn't have many top foreign players or have only 1. You think it would be fun and encouraging to other players of that nation to lose 0-4 every nation war to one person. Not to a whole nation, but to a single person.

7 1v1 bo1's seems to be best option as that gives opportunity to a lot of players to play, even those not so good. And since it's a bo1 they might practice hard specific strategy and pull an upset on better players!

edit: oh yeah, definitely should include 2v2 too. It's a staple of foreign leagues.

This is what I'm afraid of and is exactly what I think...
which would mean that 6 1v1's and 1 2v2 would be most logical...bo3?

In any case, I agree that WL format isn't the best for this event

In my opinion there should definitely be 2v2 games involved. A massive part NW was 2v2. My vote is 6 1v1 bo1 and 1 or maybe even 2 2v2

The problem is getting that many people online. I don't know if I'll be able to find that many people to get a squad together, let alone getting them all online at the same time. I think, considering this is just starting up again, 4x1v1 1x2v2 would be best, and if it's running strong and there's good activity then start thinking about 6x1v1 etc.

Yes, the main problem with 7 games (6 1v1s, 1 2v2) is that for most nations will be pretty much impossible to get that many people at same time.

So I think the format should be like old proleague was:

Player 1 Player 2

Player 3 Player 4

Player 5 & Player 6 Player 7 & Player 8

Player 9 Player 10

= Ace Match
Player 11 Player 12

Example thread: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=52560

It's similar to our standard clan war format, but the difference is that games are played after each other and not at the same time, which increases team spirit when you cheer for your team mate waiting on his results while watching the stream.

^ This might be the best format for this event. I really like it. That way ppl could be sniped on certain maps and team leadership would play a higher role.
