Shine

Q: Your thoughts on making the RO16.
▲ I had too much luck in my matches so I won, I don't know either. I'm baffled as well.

Q: Your opponent was Bisu.
▲ I'm more happy about beating Bisu than making the RO16. The match got much attention from the fans, so I was under a lot of pressure. I won so I'm very happy.

Q: You managed a comeback in the first game.
▲ I wanted to gg when my base got destroyed. But Pathfinder is a map with a strange fascination to it. It was the same in the first Round, you have to hold on and try to turn the game around. I really love this map (laughs).

Q: You planned to all in Bisu in the second game.
▲ I planned to go hydra-ling, but I saw that he built many dragoons, so I knew what he was up to. I was thinking about playing it this way (T/N I guess all-in), and I killed the cannons, so I got the right timing. The goon micro was very good, so I had to fight very hard, but I got the opening advantage, so I won in the end.

Q: You are only very strong when facing Bisu.
▲ Rather than being very strong when facing Bisu, I would say I'm very lucky in the OSL. Although Bisu is much better than me, I was just so lucky, so I won. (laughs).

Q: Your goal this time around.
▲ Making it out of the preliminaries already fullfilled my goals. I can now take part in the group stages, I think this is where the real OSL begins, I will do my best. I have to fight against 15 excellent players, so I have to be more careful during the matches.

Q: Any final words.
▲ My teammates and coaches helped me very much for my matches against Suny and Bisu, also the support from the fans and family gave me great strength. I know I have to work on many areas, but your support let me make it to the RO 16. I'm really grateful for that.

Ugh, the most hated player by all Protoss fans!

After he got lucky the 1st game, he decides to cheese in the 2nd...

Yeah Bisu really is that bad, sry guys, you guys were cheering for someone with no skills at all.

All this he's back he isnt talk is really dumb.

The first game was a big blunder by Bisu. The second showed some amazing micro and very unfortunate BO loss.

I guess, as it was said on the other thread, Bisu hasnt learned to forsee the allinish game that Shine plays.
Through high and low, bisu boy, through high and low.

Bisu got complacent and mis-micro his corsairs, which is really unfortunate considering the advantage he had in the first set. And his scouting probe lasted the longest I ever seen in my short BW stream following.

Shine deserves the second game though. Bisu just failed to scout the 3 hatch hydra build and couldn't counter well.

I really don´t understand all the hate for shine.
Everybody (including him) knew that Bisu was the favorite to win, so he did what should be expected from him (and everybody who wants to win), he cheesed in game 2. In game 1 Bisu had a huge lead and threw it away....

Blame Bisu because
1. In both matches today he didn´t prepare for what was relatively obvious to come (a counter-attack in game 1, a cheese in game 2)
2. He underestimated Shine...again....(looking at their records, Shine is 5-3 over Bisu!!)

And for the "cheese" argument. In game 2 Bisu was going for a five-gate-dragoon-build which can also be seen as a cheesy build...

Shine is so modest... :')

He made a huge comeback in game 1. And in game 2 he produced ling/dra and attacked just before Bisu could do the all in he planned to do, allowing him to slowly take the upperhand while they both kept pumping n microing men.

Great games, TyphoonZerg fighting! :D

Dammit

Shine = The Grinch.

Sigh. Smart playing by Shine; he did what he had to do. As a fan of Bisu, I'm more upset with his loss than with his opponent's victory.

Really enjoyed Shine's matches, he used man-drones in set one and a very nice timing attack on set two.

Hmm, thinking that if Bisu had won this interview would already have a lot of pages of comments. Good job to you Shine.

You guys can hate him all you want, but results speak a lot. Shine's 18-4 this month when you include OSL/MST preliminaries and 10-2 if you are just focusing on MST, OSL Ro36, and PL.

Milkis is completely right. If Shine is dumb, that makes Bisu even dumber for losing against him. I really wanted Bisu to win, but he didn't deserve it today.

Sorry, but whenever someone says that someone else's reasons for cheering for someone are "disgusting," I just can't really take it seriously, lawl.

I dunno about you, but bathing in Bisu fanboy tears allows me to remain young for eternity.

...actually, I am pretty disappointed that Bisu lost. Shine will probably get owned by the next person he plays against, whereas Bisu is actually fun to watch.

Wow! Excellent job Shine! Gotta check out these VODs. That's unfortunate that Bisu doesn't advance though, what a shocker.

Oh he is? Got too caught up in all the past EVER OSL 2009 stuff to realize that yes indeed Movie was out. Must have misread his name.

Fucking bullshit! 2 more cannons in game 1 = bisu win. And a hydra all in in game 2... yeah totally worthy of OSL advancement.

What do you know, protoss players are stupid and always lose in the dumbest ways. Game 1 Bisu lost after being like 40 supply ahead of Shine, that's like FBH losing to Flash on Medusa. That is just bad play no matter how you cut it.

Guess why terrans and zergs are always sending the protoss home in a body bag? Because the protoss players are just that weak compared to the best terrans and zergs.

Bisu made too many mistakes. His PvZ is usually flawless. If he went his usual build with Sairs, it should be a bit obvious Shine would go Hydra. Why didn't he just go lot counter with a bit of goons? This happening here, I would think Bisu would think to not do something dumb in MSL...

Maybe he has a lapse of judgment? It isn't smart to really do this vs a player that knocked you out last year too. Had a bad day, should have expected Bisu to lose a series he should have won.

Apparently reading through the comments the games must have been interesting :/
Going to wait for the VODs to come out in this weekend to watch, though there are so many Zerg in the OSL

It's bisu's huge mistake to cost him the game, he SHOULD have won definitely in game1 , I don't know how you can lose even to a muta all in with 2 bases and 6 gates(2 of which @ the expansion were defended by cannons).

Second set... I dont know why he didnt just make cannons and try something else after somewhat defending the very first encounter, hydra ling >>>> goons, everyone knows that

Man, I have no words for this. Shine is not humble, he just knows he got lucky. I guess I should take Bisu off my Round2 fpl team now.

Gotta love shine . He doesn't bother saving his main base with drones and lair and insted just attacks the cannons at Bisu's front in game 1 :D .

I hated Shine for beating Stork in the OSL Ro8 a year ago. But then when he got into that everlasting tie-breaker with Go.Go and Effort, I grew to like him. So I'm devastated that Bisu lost, but not as much as some of the people here. Now if he beats Stork on the other hand...

Actually, the game that made me like Shine was one that he lost. Something about him getting outsmarted by Go.Go was so delicious that I felt bad for him. I mean "outsmarted" in the most literal sense, poor Shine.

Bisu probes are famous for lasting a good 5-7 minutes. His probe in game 1 was pretty amazing, even for Bisu standards. Gotta love the zealot distraction at the nat so the probe could get a kill in the main. XD

Bisu has been climbing his way back to top form, but paying attention to his proleague games showed that he wasn't there yet.

And then he played against kryptonite or something. He started off game 1 amazingly, but after he lost his corsairs he failed to compensate (I hear Archons aren't horrible against muta stacks). Seriously, he was wrecking Shine's base (killed the main entirely, if I recall) and some Mutas fly over and start killing probes. No biggie, he'll shut that down soon. *Five minutes later* "Dammit Bisu...."

Game 2 I think he was trying to be cute and all-in before Shine did, but Shine brought the pain faster. Something like preparing to beat 5 hatch hydra and 3 hatch got used instead or something like that.

Shine is kinda like Kwanro. Eventually you have to accept that it's just his style/he's playing to his strengths (aka, blows at late game). Currently if Shine hydra allins he gets called a cheesy fucker. If Kwanro 4 pools somebody (and doesn't fail), he just Kwanrolled them.

Bisu made some very questionable decisions in both games.

In the second game, I think he was getting overconfident with his goon micro, and just refused to build cannons. Then Shine just ling-raped bisu's goons...

Bisu is simply cursed with the OSL... After I saw that he will be playing Shine I smelled an upset. Though I thought maybe Bisu will sneak into ro16 given his really good performance in PL.

If Bisu wins the MSL all will be forgotten as he will set the all time MSL championships record. Savior lost in the OSL Prelims during his glory years, so Ro36 isn't that horrible.

hydras, more hydras... !! ^^

I can relate to Shine so much lol, in the one season I played on Iccup I was D- 4-16 as Terran. Switched to Zerg and made it back to D and 1:1 win ratio with mass Hydras rofl.

As a tribute to Shine that day, I proceeded to do a 3 base Hatch before Lair -> Mass roach + some hydra (sc2 hydras blow tho ><) in some SC2 team game with my friend. He doesn't watch BW so he kept bitching that it was an awful play etc so he did some terrible 11 nexus build which was pretty hilarious. /rant (it's okay, we won, I was screaming EE HAN TIMING HYDRA and A moving to victory)

That said, shame to see Bisu out, many people have pointed out that he made pretty big mistakes in that series which cost him dearly, especially the one where he lost his Corsairs ><. I too wanted to see Bisu vs big names in the later rounds, but the day's loss was no one's fault but his.

I hope this spurs him on to do something in MSL. And props to Perfectman for practising with Shine.

Hoping for a good performance from Stork and Afrostyle for Protoss' sake!

Also, lots of mediocre Zergs this time round, is Pathfinder that bad? :/
MMOs kill APM. However Proleague plus BW Proscene music increase APM -> 100. 이제동 Fighting! Highest ranked Jaedong owner in FPL10 = clearly #1 Jaedong fan~! <- Keeping my sig from 2010
