Cool. Although I won't have anything ready to submit in time, I'm working on a BWAPI AI for an AI unit at uni this semester. Looking forward to the results of the competition this year :>

I'm expecting the winning AI to be in the 1500-2000 range, but we'll see.

I wanna play against a really good AI rly badly. I find that practicing against computers for the sake of build orders and macro is really fun, instead of playing real opponents.
I like money. You like money too? We should hang out.

Can you get Day[9] to cast the finals of this? I'm sure he wouldn't mind, he's into that sort of thing.

Awesome, had some difficulty getting the old BW advanced AI's like raynor or entropy to work. Hope it will be easier to use this time around.

Hmm, I wonder how many submissions there will be? I think the release of Starcraft 2 might have distracted people a bit . I started working on a bot myself back when the competition was announced, but then I realized it was going to be way too much work to make a decent one :/.

Still, it will be very interesting to see the results.

Might as well ask. I'd like to watch an entertaining finale, robot apocalypse vs robot apocalyse.

If I remember right, he studies video game design. So maybe he would actually be interested in casting at least some of it.

Technically one of the teams named their bot 'Skynet'.

I am looking for both commentators and players. All replays will be posted after matches, so games can be commentated on once they are uploaded after the match. It would be great to get expert commentary on the upper division bots, so I'll keep the community informed.

At the same time, I am looking for players in the bay area. During the conference, I am planning on hosting a few exhibition matches between the top bots and high-ranked TL players. More will be posted on this soon.

During the competition, I plan on providing coverage through twitter, livestream and the ucsc page. Are there any other recommendations?

BTW, Day[9] would be great to have covering the finals and I would like to have a feature thread when the competition officially kicks off!

Do you have any tutorials on AI?

I don't know what you guys are looking for, because when I look at your sample I don't understand what it is about at all.

EDITED: Ok I feel stupid right now...

I've played < 10 games on ICCup ever so I'm not really familiar with the numbers. I know about the range of ranks from D- to Olympic etc.

Well if you invite him, you'd probably get a few games out of it as well.

I don't know what BW players play in the bay area. Maybe you should ask in TL Community, make a thread like "AIIDE Bay Area BW AI Tournament - looking for human players."
