Out of those Starcraft is the only actually really easy one to fix because of low player salaries and the fact its 1v1. In the other cases you gotta be more subtle hence referee bribing in the high levels of Soccer, or at the lower levels getting just a few players involved. More people that know means higher chance of getting caught after all.
There have been several high profile point shaving incidents in college basketball at Boston College, Toledo, Arizona State, Northwestern, and it was RAMPANT in the 50s and early 60s. Because you can slow the tempo of the game down, basketball is highly susceptible to this (not throwing the game, but just not covering the spread)

Uh if anything it would be the other way? If you see Flash in this position in the game then try to get the game replayed. I think most people expected a replay anyway. If you got money on Jaedong that seems like a pretty stupid time to try and do it don't you think?

No real gain to fix that game, because odds were probably almost even.

seems kind of weird...
knowing kespa theyd bet all their stocks against savior before busting them down.

The bribe money is pretty low and I can't think of any other professional athlete that would purposely throw a fight. I guess boxing/MMA if the money was good, but not for the pennies these SC pros did it for. Shameful actions for a "professional".
Tennis has had similar issues recently, for similar reasons: there's a lot of money involved in the scene and the players aren't getting that much of it. Even the top few in these sports aren't paid *that* much, though in tennis the top 5 or so can get endorsement money instead. (Not sure how sc works.)

maybe it didnt have to do with that but, imagine if the judges and refs were in on the bet and was awaiting flash losing. Maybe thats why their decision was so easy and simple to not re game and let that vod speak for itself hehehe =p
That still doesn't make any sense. If they thought Jaedong had advantage then they could just let the game finish and save the power outrage for a game where Flash is actually winning then say regame. This is irrelevant anyway and people should stop bringing these pointless hypotheticals
What a nightmare, there better be extremely strict punishments now. I cant imagine how team leagues and everything else for that matter, might have panned out had these retards not cheated like little cowards.
I hope this gets taken care of, also, I think for the fans sake, we should be allowed to know who it was that cheated, I'm so worried that it might be a team I love and cheer for that messed around with this malarky.
I hope this doesn't set esports back...as SC2 seemed to be capable of doing what everyone hoped for, in bringing many scenes together and making esports larger.

pre-game betting discussion: man, what are the chances of power outage?

that's just a list in the middle. i only know the names, so i don't know if that's the list of suspects or what not.

I think by now ESPORTS would have released the list if it was up to them, however South Korean law prevents that from happening.
Starcraft is going to be hugely affected by this, i wasn't aware of the Warcraft 3 incident since i haven't been following RTS for that long but i believe that something huge could happen that will destroy starcraft.
The main impact that this has on now is Starcraft 2, we have to look at the future, not the past. Think about this: if Starcraft 1 will go down, what will happen to Starcraft 2???

The list is in Korean but it's not for the feint hearted. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here's the link again. Unfortunately, it doesnt work anymore.
I think it's a list of people under investigation and not an actual list of suspects (they haven't been found guilty yet).
the list of names explain so much.it's no wonder a bonjwa like Savior suddenly started playing horribly and Upmagic always seems to lose even though his plays are extremely solid. but i still don't understand why Justin and Gogo were involved?they've always been average players.maybe they did it cuz not a lot of people would suspect them since they weren't really A class players.
