After Boxer beat Grrr... they set up like sort of a rematch between Korea's best and Europe's best (Slayer aka GG99 Slayer). Those were the only two matches between East and West players in this best of 5 series, so as you can figure out Slayer was at Grrr's side or in the worst case... a step behind him.
Anyway Boxer kicked em both 3-0, including a marvaleus Barrack Land - Marine Block at the side of Grrr's main mineral on HOV.
Btw, if you ask me the best foreign clan of all time it would undoubtfully be GG Lycos.

He does. A few months ago(Nov/Dec or something), a good bit of people from Blizzard's SC forum got together, and he dropped by to obs, even ended up playing a game as P instead of T versus a Terran.
While definately not as good as he used to be, for someone who probably rarely plays anymore, he can still best most players.

Slayer never had that much apm.
I think smuft is really overrated by some people here.
Fisheye is much better than smuft and mainly than any other non korean P.
Maybe Saft and Grrrr... and Nazgul are on the same level.
But fisheye anyway isnt top 5 non korean gamers.
He is around top 10. Smuft isnt even top 10 if u ask me..

I still think the original GG members (which includes NTT, btw) were relatively speaking better than pG.
And Slayer wa about 230-250ish apm. In the documentary on tv grrr, themarine and other were standing behind him, talking about his insane speed. Prolly the first really fast gamer.

this may be a little late, but personally i feel that certain old players really shaped the way the game is played today and even tho they may not have gone pro or won lots of money, there was a huge impact some of these players had on the entire broodwar universe and that is undeniable. with that being said, i personally feel the best non korean gamer of all time was NTT~ but there is ALOT of honorable mentions! heh

Tsunami should get washed off any list. But lets not start a discussion over that again. I agree with the rest though, except, who is Sauron? I recognize the name though : O. And Ya Slayer was real fast..

sauron founded sauron zerg (or made it popular, take ur pick).
Tsunami had a huge influence on east players, but i don't know if it went anywhere beyond that.
I know i never thought of the zergling the same way after i saw the way they can be micro'd. (by tsunami).

Yeah, slayer was definantly the fastest player of his time.. And that's right, no spamming hotkeys.. I mean, look at this shit:
268 apm, 30 minute game, 24+/-(nada usually 40), 32% select, 22% move, only 16% hotkeys.. it's undeniable that that son of a bitch was faster than light..and all before bwchart when people actually TRY to get high apm ;o

Boxer is the only alive player (that I am aware of) who uses the same basics. I just checked a random rep, 25% hotkey.
