Well, guys. The previous entries cover my rather large quest for the platinum league that lost impetus somewhere on the way. I became ill and I spent most of this year's autumn with all sorts of flu, cold, bronchitis, whatever it was. I didn't want to play ladder because I was tiring very fast and not in a good shape anyway.
I logged in yesterday, finally, some 20 places down the ladder now, just for a single game and I did get a plat opponent and won. There's the season lock now in place, meaning if I slip initially, nothing bad will happen. So I can just throw myself at it and see where this gets my MMR. There will be about a week of the old year remaining after season 5 opens. It should probably be easier to place plat at the beginning of the season than to get promoted in the normal course. Might still be able to make it. Watching Dreamhack at Day9.tv since yesterday to get myself back in the mood and get used to the game again.

20 places? That must have been a tough streak! GL in the future
|
Oh, wasn't clear about that. I just hadn't played so long and everybody else has gain points. So I lost 20 places without losing points. But I've had losing streaks getting me 20 places down in the past. I should probably be able to avoid this now due to all the bonus points. Thanks for the encouragement!

Your end of the season MMR affects where you will requalify. Even if you lose you could still make the bump to diamond if you've won enough games. Try your hardest.

One of the guys who replied to my first entry actually did just that, he qualified diamond after finishing Season 3 in gold with me. My mechanics are definitely not diamong (I'm slow and erratic) but I'm gonna try my hardest indeed.
I think what I need currently is:
1. To learn to use ghosts properly vs Protoss or otherwise smash it consistently. 2. To get a better hold of TvT.
My TvZ beats plat more often than not.
