As for Terran, I just don't play destination. I don't like that map at all, though I know a lot of people do.

FE lets zerg roam very free while P does a cookie-cutter beat all kinda strategy in hopes of securing a 3rd base. With 1 base opener on Python, zerg can't safely take 3rd unless they know how to stop 1 base P and most Z now don't know the hax so it's a good opener.

I also offrace on python, I basically play all my games on python unless I play people on #teamliquid couse they hate it. I FE on python, but I hate all the crap I get for it.. like hydra break, or fast drops in the main. I've found that skipping stargate and go straight for 4 gate zealot/archon build to be the safest, couse I just cant power cannon fast enough if I see 2 hatch hydra.

Zerg can do ANY tech transition he wants- lurker contain, drop, muta, whatever, and crush the protoss. Any kind of 1 base opening is known for giving good aggression/harras potential early game but giving an almost crippling mid game because its just so damn vulnerable. Which, because of the bad mid game, means it has a bad late game. Go one base against bad zergs? Sure. Against good zergs you are giving them a free win.Show nested quote + On July 29 2009 06:30 StorrZerg wrote: On July 29 2009 06:26 TheAntZ wrote: Why is 2 gate such a popular strat in PvZ on python? because of the wide choke IE semi easy ling run byes and vulnerable to 2/3 hatch hydra all in. If a new player picks up a map right as it comes out and finds a way to exploit it before others have, that's the best chance he has of beating a veteran.

On the contrary, I can easily see low-level Zergs complaining that Protoss players are not doing FE. Generally, low-level Protoss do not know how to do a FE opening or related builds properly. Plus, their scouting tends to fail them. For that reason, they leave themselves immensely vulnerable to practically anything Zerg throws at them. Hydra all-ins and 3 hatch Mutas in particular are devastating and game-ending since the Protoss player very often will not have enough Storms or anti-air to deal with it.

I'm not sure what your point is. Zergs shouldn't complain that protoss aren't doing strategies that they are terrible at. The only thing that I would be okay with them complaining about is that the other race forces the game into a very similar/boring style every time. But if the other race is mixing it up, or playing different strategies depending on the map, then they just need to deal.
