It is the "Acer Aspire - GT7700-UQ9300A Predator". The regular price is 1700$ or so and my dad is getting it for 999$, the only thing I am concerned about is the graphics card doesn't seem that good. What do you guys think? Specs Graphics Processor / Vendor NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT That is not bad at all. you will be able to play d3 & sc2 at max detail.

Ok well I don't know much about video cards, but I thought that the NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT is worse then the NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT and the 9800 and a decent card.

Of course the 9800 is better...it's a newer card. That doesn't make the 9600 bad, though. It's just older. You'll be able to play any game out right now with it.

What the fuck are you thinking? what does ram have to do with video cards? :o 9600gt is pretty dated, you will be able to play most games but with newer games you usually have to turn a few settings down esp at higher res. i'd go for a 9800. also that processor wont be as good as a high end dual core for intensive games like l4d and stuff.

My point is why buy a shitty completely outdated and useless graphics card, then spend money on 8 gigs of ram. Pure stupid. It is exactly like putting rims on a rusted POS van from the 80's.

I'm in desperate need of a new computer and I haven't been keeping track of prices or anything lately. I guess I would need to add a video card to the above set up. (haven't been keeping track of video cards either but I'm looking for a video card that can play all the current games on above-minimum requirements... on a budget)

It´s not a big deal if you once think the GraKa is to bad for you to get a new one later, if you get the full comp now for a special price

For a laptop, a 9600 is pretty damn good. It vastly outperforms the 8600GT I'm using right now, and I'm still running every game on the market.

Wrong - the 9800 isn't a later card, it's from a different market segment. It's a huge upgrade from the 9600 which is a joke. The price is insanely high when you can get the Acer 5930 for so so much less with the same gfx card and thus essentially the same gaming performance.
