In defense against drops and vulture harass there were many points where you had your units almost where they needed to be, but not all the way there. Now stylistically I will talk about my vs mech idealogy esp vs my vs fantasy mech idealogy. I would never upgrade range before speed no matter what. Even vs wraiths range first is worse, against 1 wraith or 2 its fine, but against 4 or more, it is less effective then speed. Every game I play against mech esp against preasure mech, I go speed first with my hydras. Then after I get my first 6 hydra and I still have my initial 4-6 lings, I use lings to clear a path around the map to preasure. This means he can't drop because his 1 factory vultures are now having to deal with 3 hat hydra. I think playing it slightly more aggressive relivies alot of the harassment of terran. Now I think you still came out of that harass ahead. I noticed after you forced terrans CC to lift, you neither expoed immediately or spired. I think you drone whored far to much. If you had settled for basic 1/1 drone/mineral ratio during the attack, you could have had your third and spire up sooner, before he could safely go valks. So I think late spire, and 10:20 third, are suicide, even vs 1 base mech. After that your largest hit was twice allowing him to completely molest all of your drones at your third. The first time you had 1 hydra on the bridge .... one fucking hydra? That is brilliant, you'll be able to deny any single scouting scv other then that your fucked. Also, you went muta against valks, which is fine, and even got your +1carp immediately, but instead of using your mutas to spread him thin, you were militarly aggressive. I think since you were so low on hatcherys you had no choice but to try and bug his second or third bases and avoid any aggression. After you deny expo, if your broke, instead of going muta, I think hydra/lurker drops will be done by the time he retakes expo, and you can spread him thin while you mass mass muta. So defend even slightly better then you did, time your tech transitions to be a little more rapidfire, don't leave single hydras to defend 6-7 drones. I think with a few modifications to your defence and tech timings you would have completely round housed his homo play in the face ^^. | ||
