I think he meant free in that it doesn't require earning an advantage over the opponent (unlike say pvp where you can't expand unless you've earned it). | ||

Sniping the SCV making the bunker is hard. I don't always make six lings...sometimes I try to get away with two or four...but the bunker generally comes before pool with a 12 hatch anyway. And a sunken...bunker will be done before you can even start teh sunken...-____- | ||

Go 12 hatch as usual When your overlord comes out (before you place your 12 hatch), you need to send it to your nat. Place it in a location so you can see him building a bunker He starts building a bunker. Don't panic, just pull TWO drones and kill that SCV building it. If he cancels the bunker and runs, you are ahead because you just lost two drone's short mining time while he had to pay 25 minerals to cancel bunker. If he brings marines and more scvs, this is when it gets tricky. Pull more drones than his number of SCV. They usually bring about 3-4 scv + 1 marine, you should bring like 6-7 drones. Try to snipe that marine, but if it runs away, either chase after it with micro, or kill the scv that is making the bunker. Either way, the GOAL is buy time until lings come out. Make sure you save larave to get 6 lings out when pool finishes. If he runs away after he sees your lings, I like to go all-in lings because he doesn't have firebats by then, and if he tries to hold ramp, i'll use micro to trade lings for his scvs at ramp. There are alot more imba T's advantages in TvZ than bunker rush my friend. The fact that they can build rax/fact and float it into back of ur base or surprise zerg with wraiths, vultures, or mech. | ||

I agree that I wouldn't say a 4 pool and a bunker rush (and there are several variations so to count it all as one is rather ridiculous in terms of disadvantages) are the same, but that may not even be besiger's point. You think he's referring to them being the each race's equivalent, but he can be just saying that they're each race's gayest cheese versus each other. BTW, there are tons of things you have to factor in about the matchup in general, not just bunker rush and 4 pool alone. Not to mention how you define a rush failing..that can go several ways. | ||

At the 3 minute mark: 8rax, 9depot, 15depot, with 2 SCVs sent out as soon as rax finishes 12SCVs mining, 2 SCVs rushing, 1538 minerals mined 9depot, 11rax, 16depot, 18CC, with SCV scout sent at 12 supply 16 SCVs mining, 1 SCV scouting, 1656 minerals mined | ||

I dunno though, I don't get bunker rushed all that often, I usually 12 hatch on maps that I believe I can defend. Also sending a 9 drone scout to see what is going on helps a lot because if he does go for it you will expect it. I tend to 9 drone scout a fair bit so that's maybe why I don't get bunker rushed all too often. Lol I just realized this was in the blog section haha. | ||
