I've had a large interest in music for quite some time and am very much interested in how music is to what it is today by looking to the past and it's influences. All I ask from you is to have an open mind towards music as that's all it requires to appreciate any form of music

Without further ado, the first CD I will start off with is Velvet Underground & Nico (1967). VU & Nico was released in 1967 and basically ignored selling a meager 1000 copies. It just wasn't the style of music people were into at the time. The pop movement was in full throttle with the Beatles leading the way. It wasn't until the 1980's when this cd and Velvet Underground grew big. Velvet Underground is extremely influential to any alternative rock we see today from punk to post rock. Hope you enjoy the album!

This is the single album that made me want to dig deeper into the roots of music. I was first introduced to it in 8th grade and I'll admit I didn't like it at first. I just wanted music that sounded nice and this album is not accessible to someone who isn't open to music and it took me quite some time for it to grow on me. Once it did I was addicted to this album. I don't want to know how many times I've listened to Heroin. This album just won't ever get old to me.
For anyone too lazy to get the cd I'll provide videos! :D
